I have never used it. If it disappeared tomorrow, I would shrug and my life would continue as always, with the bonus of never having to look at a faintly glowing portrait of someone with crooked eyes and 13 fingers ever again.
I have one answer.

I like books! And cats, movies, books, baking, humor, books, fantasy, sci-fi, romance, books, and talking about all of the above.
I have never used it. If it disappeared tomorrow, I would shrug and my life would continue as always, with the bonus of never having to look at a faintly glowing portrait of someone with crooked eyes and 13 fingers ever again.

Sure, why not? You know I'll answer, because BOOKS. 📚
1 like = 1 book question 📚💙
Had to keep a reading journal for Crime and Punishment, and the entire thing was me ranting about how much I hated it and asking why I should care about a jerk like Raskolnikov's suffering. My teacher commended my honesty and gave me a B. I have not read Dostoyevsky again in 30+ years.
Having ranted about school curriculum books, I’ve just seen my son’s summer reading list, and all I can say is “I was right”. A more depressing collection would be tricky to assemble. Are we actively trying to convey to kids the idea that reading is dismal and arduous?
They need to hammer down relentlessly on this. They can't become overconfident, like they did with Hillary in 2016.
Just donated enough to tip someone's GFM over the top, and it feels like getting approval from my companions in a video game. Doing good feels good, how do the gazillionaires miss out on this?
And Clock Guy is the kind of craftsman who will say "Oh, this is very difficult, I've never done anything like this before, a thousand things could go wrong" while his fingers are twitching with anticipation because he already has a Plan.
there is a ceramics lady. there is a clocks guy and his sister the leather worker. there are the teddy bear ladies. there is a carpenter. there is an upholstery lady.
Coworker brought in homemade zucchini bread today, and I was reminded of my childhood gardening experiences. June-July: Oh, we'll put zucchini into stir-fries, and roast it, and there's the cheesy casserole recipe... August-onward: MAKE IT BREAD AND PUT CHOCOLATE CHIPS IN IT I DON'T CARE ANYMORE.
Former client, I'm sure the attorney would be delighted to know that due to the "relationship" you claim to have with her, you think you can demand her immediate (and free) time and attention. I assure you that she hasn't thought about you once since your case closed out a year ago.
Seattle-ish folks! Anybody available to help out Lila? @weratedogs.com, can she get a boost?
Pinned to my calendar with the note "Emotionally devastate yourself today!" Seriously, the first time I read this story in middle school, I had to keep my head down at my desk for a few minutes so no one could see the tears in my eyes.
Dear #readers, mark your calendars! August 4th is coming and what better day to read Ray Bradbury’s short story “There Will Come Soft Rains” it’s only 5 pages, attached below. Published in 1950, the story announces "Today is August 4, 2026” 👀📚 #booksky #library www.btboces.org/Downloads/7_...
Maternal grandparents had the 1968 edition, paternal grandparents had the 1979 edition. Spent a lot of time at their houses paging through one volume or another.
Were you a child who read The World Book Encyclopedia for fun?

Hey Philadelphia!! Do you want this mural on your building?? Here’s what we’re looking for: You must own the building. Must be in Philly The flatter the surface the better! The more people that will see it the better. We want to install in September Email me if that's you SkypeAScientist@gmail.com
Remember, you are no longer in school (or if you are in school, you will one day be out of it). No one is requiring you to read a book. No one will grade you. You can just decide "this isn't my thing" or "this isn't what I want right now" and pick another book.
The splendid rockstar librarian @nancybooklustpearl.bsky.social has a rule of 50. Give a book 50 pages, bail if it isn’t working for you. (She even reduces the ‘50’ by a page for every year YOU are over 50!) We’ve debated, happily, about this, I should add.
Raising 5 daughters plus caring for my mother and my mother-in-law, and being left for my husband's secretary after 25 years. (she recovered, remarried, and outlived him, is currently thriving at 97)
Enough “what would you do on the commune questions” If you got sent back 100 years and were given your grandparent’s job, what are you doing?
'I wish it need not have happened in my time,' said Frodo. 'So do I,' said Gandalf, 'and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.' Tolkiens's "Fellowship of the Rings" was first published #otd 1954
that is in fact literally in the bible. it's Matthew 6:5.
Rep. Lauren Boebert insists that public Christian worship events are necessary for America to experience revival: "I don't think that Jesus ever called for any Christian to pray only silently or to keep their faith hidden only in the prayer closet."
My favourite thing to remind people who have Molon labe bumper stickers of is JUST HOW OFTEN the person came and took it.
"The German generals of WWII were some of the best..." They lost. "The noble soldiers of the Confederacy were..." They also lost. "The Spartans..." Dude they lost so bad their city spent the rest of it's existence as a Roman tourist trap.
Yep. Your book table at a local event has an AI sign? You probably used it to write the book. Your food truck has an AI art banner? Going to assume your food is slop too. If you make a thing with your hands and brain, don't advertise it using the thing that means you didn't want to use either.
I want companies to understand that when I see an AI flier, my brain instantly deletes it. I don't think, "Ooh, I should go to this event!" I rush past it like it's a pile of dog poop. Same for ads with AI models. I assume that if your marketing is cheap garbage, so is your product.
PLEASE SHARE THIS To the young person (longish dark hair, patterned waistcoat, chinos & DM boots) who left this scroll of papers on the Piccadilly Line train at South Kensington station at about 4.25pm today, I’ve handed it to the station staff at Hammersmith.
love when people get caught using LLMs for some important analytical task "to save time" and then they're like "don't worry we rigorously vetted the results." man....you either saved time OR rigorously vetted the results, but i promise you didn't do both
"Two men went up to the temple to pray...the Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people, even this tax collector...I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ But the tax collector stood at a distance...and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'
Evangelist Whitney Lynn says she preaches on planes because she loves “a captive audience.” She's not alone. It's becoming a trend. If spreading your message requires listeners who can't escape, maybe it's not as compelling as you think. www.friendlyatheist.com/p/christian-...
Unique Vintage just decided potential bigot dollars are more important than my human rights welcome to being trans in 2026 please let them know this is unacceptable to you, ESPECIALLY if you’re cis: service@uniquevintage.com
*Watching The Hunt for Red October over the weekend* Me: I should read... Him: NOT Tom Clancy Me: I was thinking Das Boot. Him: ...Not what I thought you'd take away from this movie. Me: The takeaway of this movie is Young Alec Baldwin and Older Sean Connery Are Hot, Sam Neill Isn't Bad Either.
This is an extremely important & long-awaited breakthrough with Mercedes! This is the first time she has ever ASKED for pets (and one of the few times she’s even allowed herself to be touched)! We so hope this will encourage someone to adopt her as she’s been waiting more than a year! bit.ly/4cOmi21
We gratefully sent 6 kittens home this week (all from the group of 9 who we helped their fosters scoop from their yard). Somehow, one who didn’t find his home yet is Doublestuff, a super sweet little tuxie guy w/a short, curled-up tail that makes him extra cute. www.petfinder.com/cat/doublest...
So disappointing to see previously respected authors out there with AI covers, promoting AI audiobooks. Brother, you just torpedoed your career because we can only assume you're using AI to write as well. Which means you're no longer a writer of any worth, just a prompt jockey with no morals.
I must sadly admit that in my new very comfortable tank top with oversized armholes, I did indeed just breast boobily down the stairs.
