If you use AI to write your story or your music, you’re a loser. I don’t have time for anything you’ve presented because you didn’t have time to actually work at being creative. If that makes me an asshole, I’ll be that. It’s not the first time I’ve been called an asshole, and it won’t be the last.

This is what people mean by AI is theft. Someone I know later found out an artist (16k followers) they got a commision from uses AI and now they don't have funds to commish me or another artist they like. Not only does the slop machine steal art, these scammers directly steal work from real artists

A writer is a person who cares what words mean, what they say, how they say it. Writers know words are their way towards truth and freedom, and so they use them with care, with thought, with fear, with delight. By using words well they strengthen their souls.

"The Boss Needs You..." prints are restocked in all sizes! I have t-shirts, tank tops, and stickers too. willburrows.art/shop Also - I have an 18"x24" copy with a 1/4" tear at the top edge that I'll sell for 25% off. The tear would be completely concealed if you plan to frame it.

A comic book-style digital drawing of Miles O'Brien organizing Rom and Leeta in Quark's Bar over Guinness and snail juice. It says "The boss needs you, you don't need them! Labor is entitled to all it creates."

Also just added: giclée prints of my Star Trek V "Attack and Dethrone God" art (16x20, 11x14, 8x10, 5x7) AND my "The Boss Needs You..." poster is now available in four different sizes (18x24, 15x20, 12x16, 9x12). willburrows.art/shop

A digital painting based on a scene from Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. Jim, Bones, and Spock have their backs to the viewer and the face of God looms above them in shades of blue and cyan. Spock is shielding his eyes while Jim has his index finger raised to ask God a question. Text in the lower half of the image says "attack and dethrone God."

The “best” thing about genAI (the quotes are doing heavy work here) is that it’s really lowered the bar on getting into hand-made art. Literally anything you make is better than ai. There’s never been a better time to throw away your fear and start learning that craft you’ve always wanted to learn.

The bad-faith AI-booster argument about artists being “gatekeepers” is so facile that it really doesn’t deserve any air. Those are not serious people, and your time and energy for yourself are too valuable to expend on them!

Update for art & comms! After I finish up the current piece I'm working on, I'll be going on a slight hiatus for a couple weeks. In the process of moving and need to focus on that. Comms will remain open, but please expect a delay in me working on them! Will return to work as soon as possible!

i'm watching an irl friend slip away to AI psychosis in real time he's isolated himself and just talks to his AIs he truly believes that he's finding the meaning of life and "cracking the code to the universe" with these...predictive text generators it's really sad

I’m now just 34 sales away from 100!! This story’s been out a year and I’d love to finally hit this milestone! 🥰 If you like epic fantasy novellas with magic and romance, maybe check it out! I would really love to get this book into more hands 🫶 [ #booksky ]
