I just pushed a major update to my website larakin.systems Im trying to go more flat file and open web. The new blog is all markdown and I use @obsidian.md to write and manage posts and @astro.build for the rest. Currently have it A<->B testing (just so I can learn that) at 10% to new site.

I was talking to my neighbor when a group of cyclists came by at maybe 25 mph. “That’s so dangerous,” she exclaimed. In the meantime, quite a few drivers came by at 40 mph, and she’s completely unfazed. 🤦🏻♂️
I am fully addicted to @obsidian.md and Markdown now. Im sure I havent even scratched the surface.
Social media apps distilled down into: hit refresh->dopamine Like I say in the piece: Old Web vs Social Feed is the difference between doing something because you really really like it and doing something because you can't make yourself stop.

I miss forums, I miss individual websites, blogs... how did we all become so stratified while also coalescing into like 3-5 social media sites? dang. go make a proper FARK forum! the comments just aren't enough to discuss things!!

After ICE shot and killed Lorenzo Araujo, the FBI leaked to Fox News a claim that he was found with possible meth in the van. His family said it was a total falsehood; it was a bag of salt to be used to make an electrolyte drink. And they were right. It was not drugs.
I'm so tired of reading shit like this. I hope this man gets punished. But he won't. It's a car, and he was drunk. This is America. Fuck concuences.

This is the exact moment Andrew Tate's life fell apart.
Worth it. I caught myself complaining about tropes... Had to slap myself, this is the origin of the trope.

The Durango Herald@durangoherald.bsky.social · 2w agoA Durango motorcyclist has been arrested on suspicion of serial speeding. The 18-year-old allegedly evaded law enforcement about seven times, reaching speeds of more than 100 mph on a couple of occasions.
For the 100th time….. Iran warns that if the U.S. attacks its nuclear or other key facilities, it will treat it as a major escalation and target U.S. interests, allies, and supporters across the region.
These strikes appear to be much more intense, with reports of air defenses near Tehran and possible strikes on the Parchin Nuclear Facility.
