Well this is exciting! I’m closer to finished than I thought. There are only 10 more squares to embroider! It definitely won’t be done before SfN in November but I think I can safely say I’ll finish it in 2027 💃🏼🥰💕 #NeuroArt #SciArt #Embroidery #FiberArt

A grid of 30 10x10 MHC canvas squares are laid out - 5 down and 6 across. They form a partially embroidered giant brain with each cerebral lobe in a different color way. All stitching improvised as I go. It also includes tatting, mirrors, buttons, beads, sequins and Pom poms.

#WIPWednesday • Between my infection meds schedule and doing promo for Unbound not much #embroidery got done. But I spent a good chunk of time on it today. #SciArt 1/2

The lower torso and hips of a woman are outlined in black thread on black linen in a large hoop. The belly button is stitched in black satin stitch. Sparse French knots in white and markings in chalk are spread randomly across the torso. A 1 cm circle in tiny seed stitches in blues, oranges, yellows and white is below and to the left of the navel. The pubic hair is stitched in black whipped backstitch. The Milky Way is stitched just above the pubic hair in place of a hysterectomy scar in tiny single strand seed stitch and French knots in white, peach, oranges, aubergine, rose, purples, dark browns, light green, & grays. The needle holds white thread. An hourglass-shaped needle minder reading“this is taking forever” is attached to the cloth.
