Primary electorates=Who the fuck knows.
Polling on primaries
I say we remove this word from the dictionary.
I’m telling you this as a political scientist. The person who is electable is the one who is elected. This can and does change over time. Any and all speculation about “electability” is either puffery or anxiety and is often both.
Frank Seddio. Whadda guy. "write something nice about me for once—say I look sharp, say I've got a 12-inch dick!"…. he repeatedly called one of the investors' lawyers, Lauren Zimmerman, "Mrs. Ding-a-ling" and told her "get a better hairdo, it really sucks."
Did Frank Seddio abuse the court process to help his client steal $2 million? No, he says: Emails sent from his address? Not sent by him. Court filings made with his login credentials? Not by him! A sworn affirmation bearing his e-signature? He didn't even know it existed.
100% understandable.
in insane local news, the 26 year old director of a rocky horror production was arrested for sending threatening messages to himself in order to get the play shut down bc he didn’t want to deal with cast drama www.mynbc5.com/article/rock...
“Overall, roughly 33% of city students were chronically absent in the 2024-25 school year” is a crazy, yet totally believable, statistic for NYC.
Public schools will adopt systemwide rules and appoint dedicated liaisons to help students missing school due to severe anxiety, depression or other disabilities. Via Chalkbeat New York www.thecityreporter.nyc/2026/08/03/n...

This paper is everything. 👏🙏🏻🎯 It’s just in time to get added to my research methods syllabus. Now all I need is the research in an OpEd format I can share with the family group chat.
Updated our 'Do Moderates Do Better?' paper When you analyze the question rigorously (and don't assume correlation is causation), you find that moderates & non-moderates perform ~equally well in the Trump era Love working with @adambonica.bsky.social
Good day for a reminder that any individual member of the House can, at any time, all on their own, no permission needed, force a privileged vote on expelling another member.
Dear #polisky: I’m struggling to find good, relevant readings for the Congress module in my Intro to American class. I’m looking for something that specifically describes the powers of Congress, and will help students see which are, and are not, being utilized at the moment. Any recommendations?
This guy seems super honest and super likable and I think he should keep posting videos just like this.
Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"
It’s a legit challenge for educators to keep up with the constantly changing tech landscape. But at the moment, I don’t see how assignments and assessments can credibly be completed in any way other than in class, on paper.
How about we actually give middle school kids math assignments they have to complete on paper? And then actually grade those assignments on paper too? You can’t have them do everything on Delta Math and then be surprised when they don’t know how to show their work without a calculator.
Hallelujah! This is an exciting addition to my syllabai.

I can’t imagine this article being written about a white candidate.
Abdul El-Sayed is mixing populism and anti-Zionism in a way that has little precedent in the Democratic Party—and the ramifications of his conspiratorial rhetoric may be difficult to control, @jonathanbchait.bsky.social argues.

Summer Lee’s State House campaign manager was barred from volunteering for her congressional. That is telling.

How come political ads have to say who paid for them, but influencers doing the exact same thing don't have to say who is paying for their message? Seems like something a normal legislative branch might consider writing some policy on.

Why has DSA grown? One argument from this research: not just ideology, but organization. Strong membership plus ongoing and continuous participation in social movements creates credibility, committed volunteers, political skills, and durable electoral capacity. www.niskanencenter.org/inside-the-d...
I feel the same way about my synagogue community. I never regret showing up for stuff there.
If people are actually unhappy with the shallowness of their activities. I don't know what will work for you, but can offer my own testimony. Interacting with people in church is not a positive experience 100% of the time, but it usually is, and it is incredibly good for my mental health.
If you lawyers see any case where the fed govt is arguing the national government was *always* in charge of migration across US history, the legal history record says differently. If you need a historian who knows where the location of the line was between fed/state authority was & why, that's me.
