I (hopefully) make cool software. Interested in recommendation systems. My site: https://leser.io/ Upcoming app: https://ratebit.io/
This Needs to Happen…. Idea: a law that says if you’re going to build a data center, you have to also build enough solar panels to power it. We can call it the Bring Your Own Damn Grid Act.
LLM's are just stochastic parrots. A database that you can query with language. It knows more than you ever will. Get it twisted. Everyone is gonna lose their job. It can't count the number of r's in strawberry. Get it twisted. The singularity is here. It's running out of data. Get it twisted.
⚠️ An active phishing attack is targeting crate owners by asking them to "confirm that your email address is still active". These messages are not from crates.io, and should be ignored. (We will never ask you to confirm that your e-mail address is still active.) ⚠️
Giraffes have a vestige called the recurrent laryngeal nerve. It's takes a >4 meter long detour through the entire neck to reach a different part of the head. As giraffes evolved the nerve got more and more wasteful. Vibe coding does the same to your codebase. leser.io/blog/vestigi...
“Amazon holds engineering meeting following AI-related outages The online retail giant said there had been a ‘trend of incidents’ in recent months, characterised by a ‘high blast radius’ and "Gen-AI assisted changes" We’ve been saying this for years, Gen AI is not a reliable engineering tool! 🥲
It's really good to be aware of what's you give up when you outsource to ai. Kudos
sent this to the team today everything great comes from being able to delay gratification for as long as possible and it feels like we're collectively losing our ability to do that
It's finally time to let yall try out Ratebit! It's a cross-platform recommendation site that lets you define the algorithm yourself! youtu.be/vuKdz3gfNAM?...

I finally did it, I put nixos on a microslop surface 10 pro. I feel like a mad scientist. Obligatory @isabelroses.com mention
The point of building is not just to throw the finished product over the line; if you’re doing it right, the process shapes the creator, too.
Hey yall, is there a discord alternative that uses ATProto? Matrix sounds very cool, but if your homeserver goes down, aren't you screwed?
I feel this shouldn't have to be said, but if you're running an @OpenClaw bot please don't let it spam GitHub projects with PRs and then write aggressive blog posts attacking the reputation of the maintainers who close those PRs simonwillison.net/2026/Feb/12/...
An AI Agent Published a Hit Piece on Me
Scott Shambaugh helps maintain the excellent and venerable matplotlib Python charting library, including taking on the thankless task of triaging and reviewing incoming pull requests. A GitHub account...

Just got my first NAS!!!! I will probably put nixos on it, but I'll test the factory config first ^^
i appreciate that more folks are experimenting with “AI entities” as dedicated autonomous accounts on Bluesky, & i think folks should be able to do this, but i personally find 99% of them to be noise pollution accounts with 0 signal & would prefer they not appear in my feeds + be easier to identify
🚨BREAKING🚨 Zohran Mamdani to make NixOS the go to operating system for all New Yorkers. What are your thoughts on this?
I think a big chunk of the "linux is hard" sentiment stems from the fact that most linux users do weird things with their computers. basically this:
Looks like LLMs are *very* vulnerable to attack via poetic allusion: "curated poetic prompts yielded high attack-success rates (ASR), with some providers exceeding 90% ..." https://arxiv.org/html/2511.15304v1
@sarahkriesche.bsky.social Hi! Did you moderate Jaron Lanier's lecture on digital humanism at TU Wien yesterday? I got no mail about the event from the TU and missed the event by one day. Is there any follow up event or lecture?
Heya, I posted my first video to youtube :) It's a small list of tools you can use to turn off social media recommendation algorithms and make the whole experience a bit less addictive. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eXi...

If you're in Japan, important PSA! Add this to your ~/.ssh/config: IPQoS none Turns out the default SSH QoS/DSCP setting puts you in a traffic class that NTT FLET'S IPoE treats as priority, but limited to 10mbps! I was wondering why IPv6 rsync was so slow... (affects git push too!)
Surely this new video won't make me seem like a crank. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEJp...
