AI Data center build outs are being approved behind our backs and we're the ones who are going to be paying for it. Glad at least one party in NZ is trying to do something about this asinine scourge on workers and our natural resources. Fuck generative AI and every shitlord trying to profit from it

Interesting that almost all analysis of Xbox in freefall completely ignores an organized boycott intended to harm the company financially. Meanwhile, multiple news stories on the home page all month about PlayStation boycotts that haven't even happened yet.

What if I told you that all of the Publishing Agreements I have reviewed in the last 6 months (several dozen) included a no gen AI provision, wherein the use of gen AI in development is a material breach, but companies like Epic and EA are still trying to convince us the industry is cool with it

The main way in which AI has negatively impacted games industry jobs is not through actual automation of those jobs or even untrue claims about automation. It's by making capital unavailable because it's tied up in AI investments while also destroying the consumer base for video game hardware.
