Food has gotten better. Air travel has gotten better. Home entertainment has gotten better. Cars have gotten better. I can’t think of a single thing that hasn’t gotten better since the mid-80s. You just think it was better then because you were a child and had no responsibilities.

Soccer practice used to be a way to kill time after school until you could leave work to pick your kid up; now it's another thing your kid must excel at or they aren't getting into Yale.

As part of Trump’s planned rebuild of Dulles (because playing with his toys is basically all he wants to do these days) he says he wants to build a parking garage that would be 60% larger than the current largest parking *lot* in the world?
People love cheap bullshit, but we also love the little dopamine rush from screen bullshit so when you’re never actually touching or seeing the product before you click buy, you’re way less likely to notice why it’s cheap bullshit.

want to expand upon the latter part: most teams do extremely uninteresting shit with their playing time when they are bad, most often employing role 4/45 filler veterans with no upside. The 2026 Nats handed their’s to post hype sleeper busted prospects, hit on several, and traded them for real value
