Massachusetts does NOT ban trans youth from joining sports teams consistent with their gender identity, and instead, PROTECTS their ability to do so. Nothing in today's SCOTUS decision changes that.

I'm so thankful to Becky and her mom for their trust, generosity, and strength in front of the Supreme Court. No matter what the Court says, Becky is a hero for standing up for herself and trans girls like her. Doing what's right, even when the odds are against you, is the definition of courage.

The internet is so good for fascist logics. People can label an entire identity group (multiple of late, really) as violent and unworthy of care without having ever MET someone in that group. You should have to have coffee with 5 trans people before you tweet an opinion about trans people. But alas.

Incredible news for trans people - the Medicaid provision is out of the Trump horror bill. It did not require a point of order vote, and instead, Republicans pulled it out on their own, likely knowing they would lose the vote. Good job to everyone for calling their Senators.

News: The most recent GOP reconciliation bill no longer has the provision to ban Medicaid from being used on gender-affirming care The parliamentarian had disqualified the provision, but Republicans had left it on the text — it now has been removed

What just happened at Columbia is a warning: we will go down fighting or go down anyways. There are No. Other. Options. They capitulated to the right, brought in NYPD, hired Mike Pompeo for goodness sake, and still got hammered by fascism. We must for academic freedom No. Matter. What.

These kind of votes are born out of trans representation in government. Rep. Howell & I have built solid relationships with Republicans and those relationships change hearts, minds, and (eventually) votes. It is painful, grueling work. But it makes a difference.

Two BIG wins in Motnana! We killed two anti-trans bills today (a drag ban & a bill requiring CPS to remove trans kids from parents). I'm so grateful for Montana Democrats, who have stood unwavering in their support of trans rights. And grateful to all the Republicans who said enough is enough.

I remember talking to a friend in mid-November about how, if nothing else, the election results would *have* to push Democrats away from the centrist middling that Harris embraced and towards something more engaging for young, working families. I should have known we'd somehow see the opposite.

Incredible. @gavinnewsom.bsky.social, I hope you're ready for the >25% of Gen Z folks who identify as queer to sink your primary bid. Candidates like @aoc.bsky.social who bring economic populism AND principled, equity-driven social policy to the table will fare much better in a moment of change.

I always thought Newsom would be a terrible 2028 candidate for the Dems but this clinches it -- he is utterly dead to me www.politico.com/news/2025/03...
