Genuinely so overheated that my brain feels like it’s melting out of my ears, and my stomach is boiling and my chest is so tight. I’m really hungry, but I had to throw away my premade salads because they were from poop lettuce.

89 degrees inside the camper right now. 72 degrees outside. Thinking I need to invest in a mesh tent, because clearly it’s safer to spend the daytime hours outside than in this RV.

They said it could be heat but it could be something more serious. I can’t afford a ton of bloodwork and imaging tests, so we’re going to try giving her IV fluids, nausea meds, and a probiotic. I really think it’s heat related because she seems to be doing better already in their AC.

This is NOT the birthday vibe. They didn’t tell me when they said the sliding scale appointment in March wouldn’t charge me because of my income that didn’t include the labs they MADE ME take. I don’t have this kind of money. This is why I’ve been avoiding the doctor since I lost my insurance. 😭

Paddy got these teething treats from the wish list and they’re so big that she takes two days to finish one. Mom said last night at bedtime she “buried” the unfinished half in the blankets to protect it until tonight. Now she’s holding it in place with both of her front paws to nibble on again. 🥹

We’re going to have to replace the entire mini-fridge (at least $130-150) in addition to the food. So right now we are without cold storage until then.

SEEKING HELP: A friend at a conference told me there’s a website authors can purchase their books for a cheaper price? I don’t have access to the author portal for A ROGUE THORN, but I need to restock on my hardcover copies. Does anyone have any tips/links?

Spent my last $50 on groceries yesterday and this morning I wake up to find something either went wrong with the power or the mini fridge itself and all the fresh “cold” food (brand new deli meat, cheese, yogurt, etc) has been sitting in a wet warm container overnight. I want to walk into the sea.

yeah omg the mini fridge cooling unevenly is such a thing. if I put cheese in the drawer it's molded two days later. if I put it in the back it's frozen solid. there's actually only like a VERY narrow area of genuine useability for most stuff with a mini fridge haha

This! I only have access to a mini fridge (that cools unevenly), a chest freezer, and a microwave. No stove or oven. We had a toaster/convection oven, but it shorted out during the power outages of last fall’s storms and we can’t afford to replace it.

"cooking is always cheaper" yes. true! but let's please stop assuming that everybody has -time -space to keep cookware or ingredients or appliances (do NOT understimate the size of low income housing. I'm lucky to get 198 sq ft) -energy -a fridge -a stove -an oven -outlets (or electricity at all)
