The tragedy of an individualistic rich society is that people think they can insure themselves from anything, but when collective crises happen, people will be desperately looking for public help that will have depleted because of the past hyperindividualism

One side is like “can we disenfranchise all the Black voters by this weekend” and the other is like gotta follow the rules that govern the rules that control the rulebook

Just waded through another thread of comments fixated on “Trump’s diaper” and how bad he must smell, etc etc. I guarantee that the U.S. president’s incontinence, if it exists, is 100% the *very least* abhorrent thing about him.

Given the argument that ended the VRA, I think it’s time liberals did some self reflection about the now decades long obsession with partisan polarization as the problem, as opposed to authoritarianism, extremism, oligarchy, and racism

I don't know how to explain to the people who pop up when creatives complain about "AI" to say there are legit uses for it just how much they sound like someone saying "Well actually fire is used to make bread" when people are talking about an organized arson ring burning down their fucking houses

Israeli military says it targeted what it said was “over 100 Hezbollah command and control centers and military sites” in 10 minutes in #Beirut, Beqaa, and southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah has not launched any attacks on Israel today, insists Lebanon is part of the US-Iran deal.

Panic across Beirut.

At least 10 Israeli airstrikes rocked Lebanon, including several parts of central Beirut. Busy residential and commercial areas with no warning.

The media needs to quit breaking down the content and just focus on the fact that he's deranged. When someone is inebriated and spouting nonsense, you don't break don't the merits of their argument. You just say "that dude is drunk." Same applies here - everything stems from his derangement.

I’ve been disappointed lately that many I follow, whose posts are of high interest to me, limit commenting (to mutuals?) - there are comment threads but I can’t participate at all. So much commenting is toxic bullshit so I understand in a way, but the practice really dampens engagement.
