Before the 2008 financial crisis, federal courts and regulators preempted states from stopping the spread of predatory mortgage lending. I think one day we'll view judges and the CFTC using the Commodity Exchange Act to block states from regulating prediction markets as a similarly disastrous move.

AI has really paved the way for the erosion of consent and the use of other people’s images that these panopticon glasses require as a cultural base line. I do think there’s a powerful connection between people becoming acculturated to AI products || accepting that spy glasses are the new normal.
Pretty hard to imagine a world where they weren’t giving inside tips already, if we have reached the point of them trying to create a “legitimate” business model out of it.
