Welcomed a fantastic 48 young folk who ran, jogged, and walked around the course. Girls were dominating today with Isla claiming an impressive first place while setting a new female course record, & claiming most of the PBs. We all know girls are more resilient in the tougher weather of course. 💪
An Evening of Tom Jobim — Wednesday 6 August, Juniper Green Note. Mario Caribe leads the Green Note Trio through the music of Antônio Carlos Jobim — bossa nova and Brazilian songbook standards, played by a bassist who’s spent a career in this repertoire.
@wolct.bsky.social Himalayan balsam flowering in the Murray burn just up from the burnside path bridge by the Longstone Inn, if you up that way soon.
Over the spring, hedges etc have flourished across Edinburgh South West. Please check that your hedge is not causing a problem. If you spot a hedge or tree that is causing an obstruction or safety concern, you can report it to the Council using this link: www.edinburgh.gov.uk/parks-open-s...
Run #43 - This is what Emilia wrote so well about 😍 We welcomed an amazing 73 young folk with parents, grandparents, carers, and friends who ran, jogged, and walked around the course. 🫶 - 8 doing their first ever Parkrun. 👊 - 8 running our course for the first time.
What Hailes Quarry junior parkrun means to a 10 year old. Well done Emilia.

I can't describe how much I love the scruffy ground behind the derelict Longstone Inn. With 8+ species of butterfly, 2 day flying moths, lots of birds including kestrel & swallow and an abundance of glorious textured wild flowers. @longstonecc.bsky.social I hope this haven remains untouched
Duncan Colquhoun Award Every year LCC presents presents a £50 book token to a pupil at Longstone Primary who has demonstrated commitment, determination, enthusiasm, and selflessness by doing something good for their community. Qualities that honour the memory of local man, Duncan Colquhoun.

Fun morning in the Dells as we practiced intermediate wading whilst scouting for invasives and removing rubbish from the river and the woods. Managed to make it all the way up to Redhall Weir and pull out a problematic Balsam patch at Katesmill. Thanks again everyone & well done! #INNSweek
A very special Olympic themed Hailes Quarry Junior Parkrun #42 as we welcomed Olympic Gold Medalist Jen Dodds to warm up the troops, get them underway, and who had a huge queue of folks all wanting their picture with her. What a star! ⭐
