The WNBA has never had a trans woman play in the league’s 30-year history and now the right and other anti-trans activists are hammering the league over something that has never been an issue, proving once again it isn’t about protection but exhibiting cruelty toward trans people.
Just finished @colsonwhitehead.com . Love these characters. “And now Pepper was-“ had me worried for a minute.
This is deadass every republican campaign ad here in the south. I'm not even REMOTELY JOKING.
Hurling F-bombs at an 85-year-old scientist who won’t fight back doesn’t make you tough. Staying silent after your own daughter accused Rep. Max Miller of holding a gun to her head, pushing her against a wall, and fracturing your granddaughter’s collarbone makes you a coward.
Moreno to Fauci: "Who the fuck did you think you were?"
The legacy media sat there while Trump lied about the past elections and "joked" about running again in 2028. They did not boo. They did not walk out. They just sat there and ate their dinner. The journalists in that room will be remembered as the journalists in that room.
Probably a good case for putting Truth Social permanently out of business if it’s facilitating insider trading.
the last 25 minutes or so of THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER are magnificent. the highest tier of hollywood action filmmaking.
i strongly believe that the unpopular and widely-hated president should spend more time giving prime time speeches and thus forcing republicans in congress to defend his madness
Get a load of this. Trump's prime time speech tomorrow will be a "potpourri" of stuff he feels like talking about & he intends to do more prime time speeches going forward. This morning's Axios newsletter:
Our two most personable chickens died this week. No obvious cause, it’s always hard to tell with chickens. Life is fragile. RIP Bernice (AKA Heihei) and Barbara Gordon.
Wishing heatstroke on all the racists and neo-Nazis today.
Don't want to speak ill of the dead, so getting this Mitch McConnell take out now. He saw Trump with complete clarity, as a danger to America, but protected him anyway. Perhaps more than anyone, he had the power to end Trumpism, but chose party over country. donmoynihan.substack.com/p/jan-6-and-...
Dog rescued in Venezuela after 6 days in rubble! Such goodness all around 😍
fixing the court is table stakes for any Dem running for national office, you are not a serious candidate if you can’t get on board with this and refusing to do so is disqualifying in a primary because it doesn’t matter what your policy positions are if SCOTUS will just overrule them
The Birthright citizenship ruling should be a wake up call to any Dem who is still on the fence about court reform. We are essentially one seat change away from the Court undoing Reconstruction by fiat.
It’s important to keep today’s birthright citizenship decision in context. First, SCOTUS left the status of a fundamental, explicitly articulated constitutional right uncertain for over a year all to affirm what was clear from the issuance of Trump’s EO. Birthright citizenship cannot be abridged.
5-4 for what it explicitly says in the constitution is incredible. They were this close to undoing the civil war entirely. bsky.app/profile/mjsd...
The Supreme Court strikes down Trump's attack on birthright citizenship. By a 5–4 vote, it holds that the 14th Amendment guarantees citizenship to children born of unauthorized and temporary immigrants. Roberts and Barrett join the three liberals. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25p...
Measured by where things stood when its reign began, the Roberts Court is the worst SCOTUS on racial justice. Ever. Worse than Taney or Fuller courts.
With its recent rulings, the Roberts Court has now entirely perverted the purpose of the 15th Amendment, turning an outright ban on racial discrimination in voting into a right to discriminate against black voters. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
this is a great illustration of one of the fundamental insights of democracy — that there is no such thing as "the people" and that majorities are elusive and ever shifting. no election, no decision, is final and treating an election as a final decision is profoundly undemocratic.
A fifth of Leave voters have died.
I talked — at length! — with Julian Lucas of the New Yorker and this is what happened: www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...
Colson Whitehead’s Big Score
As he closes out his Harlem crime trilogy with “Cool Machine,” the two-time Pulitzer winner turns again to the city that made him, and to the private ghosts behind his restless reinventions.

Real peoples lives are being destroyed as we’re all forced to live in the alternate reality of a decaying pedophilic narcissist…
Legacy US media is atrocious. It’s all North Korea now.
President Trump unveiled a refurbished jet given to him by Qatar to use as Air Force One, in violation of the foreign emoluments clause of the U.S. Constitution. Editors at @apnews.com, numbed by a decade of emolumental corruption, failed to identify it as public corruption to Americans & the world.
