We DRASTICALLY cut back on factories, and the awful pollution they caused, back in the 1970's with the Environmental Protection Agency. We can ABSOLUTELY get rid of Data Centers, ESPECIALLY when they've been built when the people clearly said they DO NOT WANT THEM.

DON'T TELL US, "PANDORA'S BOX HAS ALREADY
BEEN OPENED," or, "THE GENIE IS OUT OF THE
BOTTLE," AS IF NOTHING CAN BE DONE...

GENIES AND PANDORA'S BOX ARE NOT REAL.
THE HUMAN SUFFERING IS VERY, VERY REAL.

WE ABSOLUTELY CAN GET RID OF SOMETHING
THAT WE DIDN'T HAVE OR NEED FIVE YEARS AGO.
WE DID IT IN THE 1970's WITH THE EPA.
WE DON'T NEED DATA CENTERS, AND WE
CERTAINLY DO NOT NEED THE RICH WHO PUT
THEM UP EVEN WHEN THE PEOPLE SAY "NO."

Turtle is licking herself loudly but it means thank you. I am also thankful. Please share if you still can, if I can get out of this the relief will finally set in. Also sharing my reel again soon as this gig has 4 weeks left.

I’m $500 away from being able to make a payment which should help buy me some time. I would like to keep us all housed because Turtle is used to her like of luxury (getting her own shelf in the living room). gofund.me/779549a4c

The TOS being so strict that they control you offsite is the problem; sites like Patreon and Kofi have offsite clauses too. The social criminalization of the suggestion that somewhere you might be doing nsfw is a problem. It's branding a person as obscene and we need consumers to stand up for us

a bunch of popular ASMR artists lost their channels forever this week, after YouTube cited them for violating terms against "sexually gratifying" content: www.404media.co/youtube-asmr...

"what can I do?" Call your reps and tell them to vote no on the Online Safety bill package because things will get worse the more censorship laws are allowed to pass. Tell your reps that payment processors must allow legal content. Go yell at youtube for their shitty TOS.

It will be worse than this! Most websites will be forced to ask you to send your ID to a third party surveillance service, adding a credit card won't be enough for most. Bluesky asks for your *social security number* if you live in Texas now, due to this shit. Call in, and kill it.

This will be the US if the SCREEN Act passes. Call your Senators before August 5 and tell them that you oppose the SCREEN Act, KOSA, and the KIDS Act. Use the official lookup tool at www.senate.gov/senators/sen... to find yours by state.

hey all, sorry to bother, but i'm having issues with both the housing authority and my apartment's leasing office, which has resulted in me both not getting my rent payment AND jacking my rent up from $1425 to $2403 this month, any help is appreciated gofund.me/921bc2143

This is like 90% what the Nazis did with "degenerate art." Except they're wording it as "accountability" and denying student loans (which already restricts who can and cannot achieve higher education)

President Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/aaAEu6v

What's more nefarious than age-verification? The chilling effect on platforms. The threat of prosecution is likely enough to get a lot of retailers to end sales of politically "harmful" categories entirely. No more fantasy, no more sex education, no more LGBTQ+ resources. That's the real goal.

And for the really bad news? They've put a target on VPNs. Sites are required to identify (and age-verify) any US citizen, regardless of whether they're using a VPN. In fact, the default is to get the ID and biometrics of EVERYONE unless you can somehow prove their not a US citizen.

"VPNs are a privacy and security tool used by millions of internet users every day, and their use should not be treated as suspect. It is particularly galling that the SCREEN Act forces users who intentionally take steps to protect their privacy to identify themselves."

The SCREEN Act is not just another age-verification bill — it goes much further than anything passed at the state-level or in other countries. 1. The bill doesn't just target porn sites. It goes after *any* site that allows material "harmful" to minors. You'd have to scan your face to use Google.

(3) COVERED PLATFORM.— The term "covered platform" -
(A) means an entity -
(i) that is an interactive computer service;
(ii) that-
(I) is engaged in interstate or foreign commerce;
or
(Il) purposefully avails itself of the United States
market or a portion thereof; and
(iïi) for which it is in the regular course of the trade or
business of the entity to create, host, or make available content that meets the definition of harmful to minors under paragraph (4) and that is provided by the entity, a user, or other intration conten provider, with

What can you do? CALL. WRITE. SCREAM. The bill is up for a vote THIS WEDNESDAY. Call your Senator. Dem. Republican. Whomever. Right now, it's a solid R bill, but they're looking for Dems to take it across the finish line. Let them know how badly it stinks. www.defendonlineprivacy.com/screen/

Defend Online Privacy: Stop the SCREEN Act!

The Senate Commerce Committee will vote on the SCREEN Act on August 5. ACT NOW to stop it!

‼️ACTION ALERT: The Senate Commerce Committee is holding “kids safety” circus again, this time considering both KOSA (the Kids Online Safety Act) & SCREEN Act, two of the most dangerous censorship & age verification bills on the table! CALL YOUR LAWMAKERS & TELL THEM TO OPPOSE 📲 248-331-8665

The image is a graphic poster with a vibrant red background and contrasting dark purple text. At the top, it contains the message: “Senate Commerce Committee is taking up KOSA + SCREEN Act THIS WEDNESDAY” in bold white letters. Below this, in a larger, informal handwriting-style font is the phrase “TAKE ACTION” in yellow. At the bottom of the image is a phone number, “248-331-8665,” displayed inside a rounded rectangle in dark purple. The overall layout is eye-catching and designed to attract attention to the call for action regarding legislation.

If SCREEN were to pass, you'd be required to scan your face and upload an ID to access this site because it allows "harmful" material. This affects you even if you don't care about sex work or porn.

Mike Lee's SCREEN Act, which heads to Senate Commerce Committee for markup on Wednesday, would expand age verification requirements to a nearly limitless scope of websites, and is supported by the architects of Project 2025.
