Sometimes your only point of pride in a week is how well you disguised yourself as a piece of glistening meat in Meccha Chameleon.

The "lazy dev". Devs care so much about making something worthwhile, even if it's a small section of a much larger project. Even if a player doesn't like the pricing or how something was implemented, there was a person who lost sleep over wanting to make that thing as good as it could be.
game devs: what are the myths that a lot of players of games think are true about making games that are completely untrue? If you could snap your fingers and they suddenly all knew the truth about it what would it be?
Also not the biggest concern, but the situation Josh is accurately describing is a compound nightmare because the lack of employers means young creatives aren't learning anything about the craft from veterans of their industries. It's all atomized. And knowledge loss is thus massive :(
I know this is not the biggest concern going these days, but it stresses me out that basically every artist/writer/critic is now expected to create their own tiny empire instead of getting paid by any existing entity to perform a job they've worked to get good at!!!!
The entire Cinematic org was included. Let me know if you're looking to pick up a Director and/or other talented cine folks at any level.

Physical books are wonderful for obvious reasons, but the most powerful one is that it isn't an eReader that's susceptible to every single part of your cat changing the pages and font. A single flick a tail. A paw, nose boop, flop, we are now on page 356 at 180 pt font for the 6th time in a night.
Been thinking about this painting for several days.

I tried giving up coffee for about two months and I can tell you that coffee is, in fact, life.
People justify AI by choosing a random job that isn’t widely understood outside the profession, downplaying the creativity while exaggerating the tedium involved, then proclaiming that using AI for it frees up ppl’s time for “important” stuff
