Film and theater lover. "On" Long Island. Cats, obviously. Fiona, particularly. Sorry about the politics. Grieving. I miss my mom. Lucky companion of the late TT. I miss my guy. She/her. https://letterboxd.com/NYJaneLane/ ┃ https://shorturl.at/Cd0kk

All that came on the heels of Cosby, Weinstein & Pelicot, plus the analyses showing mass shooters get their start abusing women & of course President Rapist. Yet my sense is that most ppl process this as "there sure are a lot of bad apples," rather than as "violent misogyny is organized terrorism."

I have an “email job” at a computer ALL DAY and not one part of my workday involves AI. Unless you count scrolling past the AI results in google to find the correct answer/website/result, or ploughing through AI phone trees when I call companies to get to a human

My answer is LOL ROFL (dickbrain) The terminally AI-pilled can't even *imagine* some people have *never* asked stochastic parrots to cheat at their job for them.

All the people who are anti-Al or want to
slow Al progress, I have one question:
If Al disappeared tomorrow, could you
still get through an entire workday
without ChatGPT, Claude, or any other
 Al tool?

Imagine Al was suddenly banned.
Would you actually be willing to give it
 up?

I’ve been screening our documentary with organizing communities in the South. So far, the organizers mention data centers first at every single event. From racial justice orgs to old school activists who don’t usually think about tech policy. This has legs.

It's the only method of voting where you actually have the ability to research which of the weirdos running for county assessor is a better choice, without holding up a dozen people waiting in line. It's insane to me this isn't how all voting is done in this country. It's so much better.

Washington has been 100% vote by mail since 2011. I haven't voted in person since 2000. All of our ballots have individual tracking numbers and we get to watch them go through the whole process. It is the best voting system in the US.

That statement from the third of the three stories I posted. Best guess? They dig in and it doesn't become a big deal. But is a sign of things to come. Advertising is a gas - it will expand to fill the volume and shape of any available container. (Says the PR man - lol)
