Layoffs hit Double Fine today, and I'm sorry to report that I was one of the ones hit. If you need a game designer with tech chops and 2+ decades of experience, here I am.
As we lean towards a hyper-literal "YouTube title word salad" meta for indie game names, I aspire to make games that people don't believe me when I tell them what genre they are. I made a puzzle game with "RPG" in the title. I should make a puzzle platformer called "Gambling Roguelike".
And suddenly, as the pang of my heart rises unbearable, I am reminded why developers don’t show cancelled games.

Just beat it: Galley House isn't going to redefine the genre but it's one of the cleanest instances of it. A perfect, tight package, the 90 minute movie of video games.
