I know Canadians want to feel safe. I get it. But imagine if any other prime minister kept introducing laws that said "I and my minister get to decide what laws apply, when, and we get to unilaterally and retroactively remove conditions on multi-billion-dollar projects."
I don’t know if I’d say the same for the changes to environmental regulations. Among other issues, the prospect of allowing construction on some projects to begin before approvals have been granted seems like it would make it extremely unpalatable to then not grant them.
