With closed beta underway via our Discord, we're moving towards releasing our card-printing auto-battler TOPDECK AUTOMAT later this year! 🤖🖨️👽 One super fun thing we're working on is more animations for the aliens, including little victory dances, which might make losing a little more bearable...

Whoever picks the Gamescom Awards nominees, do you just paste the "highest grossing games" or were you actually paid by the publishers to put those in specifically? The disrespect towards medium and platform shown by this focus on gacha exploitation machines is ridiculous...

"Indies will save us" No! YOU WILL SAVE INDIES! Go leave a review for that neat indie game you like, share the trailer for an upcoming game you're anticipating, tell your fave developer they did a good job, go tell people about such and such game that's just come out, you can make a difference!

It's so weird how games are supposedly art and serious and stuff but we can totally act like the bits of it we're not comfortable with aren't *really* part of the experience. I'm sure this isn't at all because professional reviewers is inherently compromised by their status.

Indie dev discovery is tough, so I'm grateful for every video of my games. BUT gen AI thumbnails are bad vibes. Can only imagine how terrible it feels for artists like @estivador.bsky.social to see twisted crappy versions of their passion-fueled creations vomited out by a soulless anti-art robot...

A big friend asked me to do a talk on a game course he manage, about 2D game art. I find a way to wrap "write down your ideas loosely on a sketchbook", "practice a lot", "draw is just a language to pass a message" and "use of 3D isn't cheating" with a card art of Topdeck Automat =D #2D #3D #gameart

steps of the card creation, with the paper sketch, the 3D model used in the art and the final art of a fan hitting a wall with a panicked green alien dodging the fan.
