Sorry we tried to stand up for trans people, we won’t do it again, Gender Criticalism is normal stuff actually
Amnesty have issued an apology to JK Rowling and the rest. Adjust your expectations, and donations, accordingly www.amnesty.org.uk/latest/an-ap...
A leadership which considers people entering Europe more of a problem than those same people dying is a leadership which would be open to killing people to prevent them entering Europe
Apparently the unacceptable bit is not that 24 people died
The images coming from Ceuta are unacceptable. We cannot allow anyone to come to our Union without abiding by our rules. Dangerous crossings must stop immediately. Smuggling networks must be dismantled. And returns must be swift, as our rules allow.
Wanna get into a senior management role in my corporate job not for the money or the prestige but so I can reply to someone’s email thread that represents days of work with a single word
Glad to see so much uptake of this story which was first reported by Shamim, but please be aware this is entirely typical and unsurprising behaviour by the DOJ. It’s particularly cruel when the students are from Gaza but it’s also part of a pattern of unjustified visa refusals
Dozens of people from Gaza seeking visas to study in Ireland are denied entry. It was Haneen Eshraim's only “realistic opportunity at this stage to leave Gaza safely and continue my education”, she said. More here www.dublininquirer.com/dozens-of-pe...
250 jobs hardly begins to meet the needs of the 17,000 IT staff laid off in the last 12 months alone.
Substantial OpenAI expansion in Dublin announced -- big new HQ and 250 new jobs. Ironic -- AI job losses in big tech firms (in Dublin). But the AI firms themselves now growing in Dublin, hiring plenty. Multinational tech circle of life.
I predicted this company would be dead or acquired by the end of 2026 and honestly I’m still predicting that. I wouldn’t hold my breath for these people ever getting hired
AI giant OpenAI is hiring 250 workers at its new EU headquarters in Dublin’s Docklands to meet the growing demand for its services in Europe.
Engineer son of a heating and ventilating engineer here. Buildings like this are designed with air-conditioning included before any building starts. It's an integral part of the safe management of the internal environment and the building is not intended to be used with it switched off. Ever.
Homeless families in London temporary housing told not to use air conditioning
I mean yeah kinda but also what photo are they meant to use? Like do you think people go to get family photos done and the photographer is like “ok we’ve got the smiley happy family shots, let’s get one or two sinister foreshadowing ones just in case”
RIP Bill Oddie, we have an old copy of his Birds of Britain and Ireland in my parents’ kitchen so my dad can identify who is at the bird feeders
Shouldn’t laugh of course but the defence from the girl caught with the bomb is very funny to me. “Oh I was just given a bag by my friend in Saoradh to drive across the border. No I didn’t ask what was in it”
Not to take a corporation’s side here, but in all these stories you get the (questionably accurate) customer’s side of the story and the bank can’t give any details for legal reasons
Revolut leaves customers without cash and tells them to sling their hook without reason
I think maybe a naan… this sounds like a very fun experiment to try out though
Finally, someone asking the important questions
Sophie Cunningham was the ring girl for the rapist Connor McGregor just last week! Starting to think she really doesn't actually want to protect women.
Sophie Cunningham doubles down and calls trans people a threat to children. But don't worry, she's there to "love."
“Institutional racism” is the great cop out, racism is just atmospheric, hanging around and infusing everyone’s decisions without any individual being racist or doing anything racist themselves. Once the idea of “racism without racists” became possible, suddenly it was the only type of racism
It says a lot about how the term "institutional" has been denuded of any real meaning by the press that the former head of the Met can claim that the force was institutionally racist but it had nothing to do with him and he was completely oblivious to it. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...
That was the dumbest game I've ever seen (laudatory)
Hahahaha this is the greatest game ever. A circus. This is everything you want from a third place playoff
There’s a young fella they’ve shown 3 or 4 times now wearing a Zidane French jersey who definitely wasn’t born when Zidane retired
"Road safety is close to a perfect test case, because nobody is for people dying on the roads, there is no powerful lobby defending the status quo" WHAT? WHAT? There is no motoring lobby? What the absolute &*(£ are you on about.
"the government has never in its history been larger" Ireland has 10 civil servants per 1,000 population compared to 80/60/60 in France, Netherlands, and Germany. Ireland is still completely understaffed yet Sinead thinks we have enough and I guess are just idiotic leprachauns.
Our plane home from Italy had a mechanical fault so they had to send a replacement plane from Dublin. EU law says that if we’re 3 hours late arriving we get €400 each. I’ve never stared at FlightRadar harder
