TRUE LOVE IS POSSIBLE ONLY IN THE NEXT WORLD -- FOR NEW PEOPLE. IT IS TOO LATE FOR US.
Like many women, @maddie-b-a.bsky.social loved playing browser-based โgirl gamesโ growing up. After discovering the enshittification of this once-beloved genre, she's started to question how their downfall is letting down a whole generation of young girls who still need good, accessible games.
The Enshittification of Browser-Based Girl Games is Letting Down a Generation
Earnest '90s and 2000s browser girl games have been replaced with slop that may well indicate how the industry feels about young girls

Constantly seeing posts of people asking in what order should I watch these movies? what order should I play these games? Like... Release order. Literally always release order. Doesn't matter what the timeline is. I honestly can't think of a single situation where you wouldn't do release order.
Cannot think of a funnier name than Carmichael. What is that. You're Michael but like also you're a car?
It's really important to go outside because there's very good chances you will see a dog
Jet Force Gemini was one of those games I always wanted to play as a kid but didn't know how to get my hands on it. No idea what kind of game it was. Just looked cool
Hadn't updated my top favorite games since 2023, there's been some new additions since! I went with only one game per franchise as a rule, makes things a bit easier lol What's yours?
One thing they donโt tell you about being a working artist is that every once in a while a picture is simply Haunted and, for reasons beyond the reach of man, simple things you have done a thousand times will be Very Hard and Look Bad and you will lose ten years of skill for the duration of that job
I actually LOVE the idea of making a Zelda with this marionette inspired artstyle (in fact I loved the artstyle of the Nintendoland Zelda stages that was a bit along those lines) and I think it would have been great IF it was for a brand new entry in the series, but Ocarina of Time isn't that. /
Saw this on twitter, for all the haters of the art style. Originally posted by @drechin_
personally I actually think the 3DS version of Ocarina was the best visual representation of the game, despite first playing OoT on the N64, because to me it seems like the 3DS version was able to do what they were TRYING to do in the N64 version but couldn't due to tech limitations
This is why Dolly Parton will be remembered and loved โค๏ธ๐
This Gamescom demonstrated more than ever that the gaming industry is suffering from an increasingly severe lack of creativity. Soulslike after Soulslike after Soulslike, the latest gacha, the latest samurai action game, the latest military shooter. This problem is only gonna get worse with AI .../
back before AI, video game developers had to make every digital woman look the same through hard work and artistry
Gamescom AI Slop Thread. Every game from the Gamescom Opening Ceremonies that was actually AI Slop so you don't have to care about it.
well congrats everyone, after the success (15k reviews!) and positive media coverage that AI-generated-art library-sorting game on steam got, there's now a rapid wave of AI-disclosure sorting games releasing on steam
"society if ceo's got a 99% pay cut instead of sacking thousands of staff every month" in case you think that's too much, many would still be millionaires even after that workers take home pennies & struggle to make rent when bigger ceo's get 100M+ this is not sustainable
Freelance is when you have 30 urgent emails and 0 moneys
Right now the world is full of people who want to code and write and paint and film stuff and people who want to play and read and look at and watch stuff and nobody is allowed to do any of that because some unrelated third guy isn't making enough money off the deal
Our games industry is people. Our studios are people. Our teams people, our games by people for people. Our games are made by people, in groups of people, in teams of people, making people things for people. The magic is people, and the people deserve so much better than all this. I am so sorry.
I don't have any patience for the "but we're poor" argument for bands using AI for posters and publicity. Try to think back to roughly 3 years ago when you somehow coped without it.
is there a forced gay agenda in your entertainment media or is it just that the gay kids you bullied in school for being gay and artsy inevitably ended up working in the arts with a bunch of other queer people, women, and progressives while you got a job as a deep sea fisherman, terry?
