I am in this weird space. 1 week until I return to work to set up my classroom. 2 weeks until students arrive. I want to slow down my final summer days, and quickly finish my summer reads. Once school starts, my day-long reading routine disappears, replaced by stolen minutes early in the morning.
I use chat stations quite frequently in my fifth-grade classroom. It is an excellent protocol to get students moving and talking. #EduSky #TeacherSky

Safety and comfort are not the same thing. Feeling uncomfortable or unsettled is not the same as being unsafe (although it can feel the same). Self-awareness must include reflection on the difference.

Based on what you've seen with teachers who have entered the profession the last 5 years or so, which way is it skewing? More towards calling (and overextending)? Or more towards "job" (and firm boundaries)? 🤔 just curious!
