the death of brick and mortar retail has my kids way too interested in Going Somewhere. They don't have any fear that one of us picking up our keys might mean they're going to TJ Maxx, where they'll have to stand quietly for an hour while I talk to someone I know who also happened to be there.

What they don’t tell you about time travel is you can’t just go anywhere you want, you can’t go back and kill Hitler or Genghis Khan or see a Dinosaur. You can literally only go back to a random weeknight between 1988 and 2003 and the only thing you can do while you’re there is call Art Bell.

This thought is a month late but: People who performativly hate soccer “because of all the flopping” don’t bat an eye when a catcher tries framing a pitch that was in the dirt.

The Mariners seem like one of the most cautious organizations with pitcher injuries and I’m glad for it because there aren’t a ton of guys getting Tommy John, but it does often leave our bullpen thin and it’s kind of annoying.

I remember talking to a (normal)Cardinals Fan before the season about Brenden Donovan and he said “Oh, when he’s on the field he’s a real difference maker, it’s just that’s basically never.”

Groggily, you wake up, opening your eyes to see sunlight on spring leaves. You blink and stretch the young muscles of a spotted fawn. “Data centers”? “Explosive diarrhea”? The memories fade quickly, it was all a dream. Your mother licks your brow affectionately. Oh look, jewelweed, your favorite.

It’s been 90 degrees in Seattle for the past 3 days, I’m at the park and the cooler weather is just starting to roll in and it’s so nice. Good golly, what a wonderful feeling.
