The worst part about getting something you're genuinely excited about is going online and having people tell you why you shouldn't be excited about it. My jaw fell open when I saw the remake's graphics and I teared up during the trailer. Then I go on Bluesky and see people dunking on it? Misery.

I was looking at the list of things EA owns and I forgot they bought Codemasters a couple of years ago. UK players, you know what that means! You could get an egg in this auction!
Random Stranger@randomstranger.bsky.social · last mo.Since it's been announced that EA's new owners are planning to auction off EA IP assets (something I thought would take at least a year before they got to that point), I want to point something out: a lot of stuff is going to go for a lot less money than you think.
This is completely fucked. The digital equivalent of sacking a small artist commune.
Thaumana 🎨 VGEN Commissions | ACG Store Opening@thaumana.bsky.social · 2mo agoCara was scraped. This attitude of art scrapers like this AI grifter in the AMA reddit thread perfectly represents the overall nature and sentiment of the entire AI bubble: Utterly inhumane, repulsive malice. But they're always "wondering" where all the resistance and aversion is coming from, huh
Had an absolute blast playing Agent64 online last night. My tips for setting up a lobby: keep the games short (2-3mins), so people aren't waiting to join; add a few bots to keep things lively when there's fewer players. UNLOCK THE MAPS in challenge mode first - I didn't realise this early enough 🤦
🚨 SAVE SOME MONEY! You can get Agent64 at a discount if you own Selaco (and vice versa)! The game rules, by the way. Well worth your time!
Feel their pain. AI bots are indirectly killing data / information websites, forcing them to become more restrictive, less open. stephenfollows.com/p/what-just-...

Back in October, Rockstar Games fired 34 employees for alleged gross misconduct. The severity of these firings could have spelled the end for a burgeoning union effort that was underway, but it didn't. In fact, the union is now *bigger* than it's ever been before. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ym4z...

Good insight into how Nintendo's mario team structure their games to ensure a good sense of overall pacing. Major levels are almost always bookended by smaller ones so as not exhaust the player and keep the sense of forward momentum going.
Supper Mario Broth@mariobrothblog.bsky.social · 5mo agoSuper Mario Odyssey and Donkey Kong Bananza (without paid DLC) have almost exactly the same structure in terms of distribution of major, medium and minor areas. In addition, both have 17 areas total, out of which 7 are of particular significance.
