Perennial debate easily solved with the MacIntyrean concept of practices. All cinema is art qua creative expression, but the medium permits different artistic practices. Apichatpong and James Gunn are clearly engaged in different practices with different standards of excellence, internal goods, etc.

Cinema can be art, but not all cinema is art. Some movies are entertainment, not that hard to understand.

To emphasize a point Snitty makes in her thread: Excluding trans kids from sports is about cutting them out of public life. The lies people pushed about "fairness" were a thin cover for anti-trans bigotry. For most athletes sports are about socialization. They're taking that away from trans kids.

Reposting an old thread of mine to say as a former college athlete, I want trans girls and trans women to be able to participate in sports. Let them run, let them swim, let them play.
