When I was a kid I would get punished by being sent to my room. Which was awesome because I would be left alone to read, so it was no punishment at all. Now I'm actually being punished as an adult because I can't do that any more.

Do white people ever think, "I wonder what it would be like if every book I read or TV or film only had Black people in them?" Just constantly inundated with images of Black people, in our vastness. Probably not, but, I dare say, it would change how they view everything. Representation matters.
