East London Charity. We believe that #AllOurChildren deserve the best start in life no matter what their parents' immigration or housing status. #ThisIsCommunity #Mum2Mum

Just a small campaign update. We are so pleased that the new child poverty strategy addresses some of our asks. BUT The hostile immigration environment does not just tip children in to poverty - it legally mandates that they stay there. We don't think it's right. Do you?

Don't scroll by! We need your vote! In troubled times, women singing together - across cultures, languages, generations - is pretty much what we all need! PLEASE take 5 minutes to register to vote for us, (see the QR code) to get some community funding to make our choir a Share, spread the word!

Just leaving this here if anyone wants to check it out...We are housing not only families fleeing violence, but also families who simply find themselves homeless in hotels for weeks on end. If you are thinking 'that doesn't sound so bad' - remain curious a bit longer and listen to our families...

We don't give out clothes in plastic bags - ever it is a RULE. Plastic bag of clothes don't offer the dignity and respect that our mums and minis deserve. We want to give gifts with love, not tatty handouts. So - we need a constant supply of cloth tote bags. Got any? Send them our way!🛍️

When we moved in to the Grassroots Resource Centre, we dreamt of leveraging this space to serve our community. Now we are doing it through Healing Community clinics. You get - wonderful Osteopathy or Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy – our mums get the same, but free. Our communities heal together!

"Promotional graphic for a free webinar titled 'Minimum Income Standard for London: Report Launch and Q&A.' The event is scheduled for 10 July at 3.30pm. Key questions to be discussed include: How much does it cost to live in London? How many Londoners are falling short? How can we use this data to call for change? Includes a call to action: 'Secure your free spot now.'

Could you get through a regular week without a kitchen, or a washing machine or WiFi? Many of us couldn’t. But thousands of families in temporary accommodation are having to – often for months or even years. So with the Better TA Alliance, we’ve launched a new campaign: Fix the Five Basics...

Three men stand together, holding signs that say 'I support the five basics for temporary accommodation' and 'fix the five basics'. Below this are icons representing washing, cooking, wifi, information and storage.

The newham charity @magpieprojectuk.bsky.social have been campaigning for ages to stop families being housed without access to kitchens. Families are being forced to live in places with nowhere to cook suitable food for children, nowhere to make an iftar meal, nowhere to make baby formula.

When I did a story on conditions in migrant hotels, there was a woman who would have to wash the spicy sauce off the pasta - in the sink - because there was no meal suitable for her toddler. She felt like a bad mum who couldn’t feed her own child

Hostile & dehumanising rhetoric about migrants and refugees fuels racism and division in our communities. It lays the foundation for violence, like we saw last summer. We urgently need a wholesale shift in how we speak about migrants and refugees in the UK. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
