My mom called from Anchorage this morning. Mom: "I'm letting you know you should be concerned about me. They put out a heat advisory for today." Me: "What's it gonna be, 75?" Her: "Yes... I think they were just feeling left out by everybody else's heat advisories."

Went to pick my kids up from dance and there was a table of people at the cafe next door sitting outside having a working lunch, just inhaling big happy lungfuls of smoke air. I cannot stress enough what a bad idea this is.

Maybe the Midwest is currently cloaked in wildland fire smoke because of decades of greedy, cynical, systemic politicization of the climate crisis. Maybe it’s because I already prepped gallons of corn salad for today’s now-canceled dance school pool party. I guess we’ll never know.

A great way to deal with stress and anxiety is helping. Rephrasing this question: Who WANTS to go to the Sparks-Lynx game today? Twin Cities locals do you have a daughter who would love to go but things are tight, or know someone in that situation? I will buy two lower level tickets, DMs open

Minneapolis: who's going to the Sparks game today? We'll be there early to watch pre-game practice

Maybe they should just practice locking the door and turning off the lights and remaining silent while hiding under their desks…or is that just appropriate for kindergartners?

"It is not a coincidence that this story comes a week before the ballot deadline" correct, survivors often feel compelled to disclose when the men who harmed them are about to get a lot of power, that's not a conspiracy against the men, it's a rational fear turned action

let this be a lesson to deal with your feelings of gender anxiety and masculine inadequacy with a hobby or therapy or something and not a high stakes senate election
