Oh wow: ESA announces it has a positive detection of the SpaceX Falcon 9 upper stage booster impacting the moon! I still haven't seen any images of a flash, but that's not surprising. It was faint. Here, they saw evidence of gas (vaporized material) in the impact plume by taking spectra.

as noted yesterday, Trump has now come around to treating an Iranian toll system covering the Strait of Hormuz as a given. Hard to overstate the level of strategic failure. US started the war purely as a war of choice and ends up dramatically empowering Iran and given the Iranian govt big wins.

I was torn about the Sea Peoples thing. I enjoyed it because I like “the Sea Peoples” as a concept and meme (Sea Peoples innocent; etc.), but it was crammed in very awkwardly and we absolutely did not need Penelope’s (extremely Nolan literalism) “*you* are the People From the Sea!” line.

I meant to post this last night but if you’re mad about any of the primary results you got 24 hours to bleed, try not to say anything you’ll regret in 48, and then it’s Blue No Matter Who.

Even if the victims were involved in illegal drug trafficking, the federal sentence for conviction of that crime doesn’t include death. The typical punishment is 7 years in prison without parole. Being a first-time offender or not having a leadership role directing the crime would reduce the time.
