"LGB-no-T" campaigner Julie Bindel says she'd BAN pride if she could, in order to protect children from predatory gay men. Absolutely fucking appalling. A whole column — "A Pride of Perverts" — going on like this. TERFing really cooks the brain.

I feel afraid for vulnerable teenagers who, questioning or exploring their sexuality for the first time, go along to a Pride march in the hope of meeting like-minded young people. The parades are now hunting grounds for predatory men, who can dismiss as 'homophobia' any attempt to rein in their behaviour. If I could ban Pride, I would, to protect young people - especially women, but also teenage boys who are very much in danger of being sexually abused and exploited by much older men. Women like me are sick of being lumped in with trans-identified people, with kinksters, with those that just call themselves 'asexual', 'non-binary', 'sapiosexual' or 'aromantic' - people who are never going to face oppression or discrimination for their sexuality. The Pride movement is redundant.

1. In a move that is likely to be seen as capitulation to Trump, EITM can confirm that Mamdani's first ever trans direct care clinic will deny care to those under 19 years of age, the age from Trump's anti-trans EOs. It is a far cry from his pledge to "use every tool" to fight capitulation.

Wow: Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, one of the biggest children's hospitals in the nation, will be forced to create the nation's first ever "detransition clinic" as part of a $10 million settlement with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Attorney General Ken Paxton secured a historic settlement with Texas Children’s Hospital (“Texas Children’s”) that compels the creation of the country’s first-ever Detransition Clinic; requires the hospital to pay $10 million for billing Texas Medicaid for unallowable and illegal ‘gender-transition’ interventions, including by using false diagnosis codes; and compels the termination and revocation of privileges of multiple physicians. After a years-long investigation by the Healthcare Program Enforcement Division, Attorney General Paxton has negotiated a historic settlement that will help protect Texans. Under the terms of this landmark agreement, Texas Children’s will establish the first-ever multidisciplinary clinic designed to provide medical care to patients who were subjected to “gender-transition” procedures. This Detransition Clinic will help patients reverse the damage caused by ideologically-motivated physicians who harmed patients by performing dangerous medical interventions for the purpose of “transitioning” them. For the first five years, all services provided through the Detransition Clinic will be funded by Texas Children’s and be free of charge to patients.

“Some of the studies are testing new treatment regimens for drug- resistant tuberculosis,” I explained, hoping I could convey the very real danger in terms that would register with this audience. “Thousands of enrolled patients are at risk now that their lifesaving treatment is stopped. But that’s not the only danger. We only have limited options to treat drug- resistant TB. We’re using our antibiotics of last resort in these trials. Interrupting treatment midstream risks the development of new, even more drug-resistant strains that could be untreatable. For an airborne infectious disease, that is a serious national security risk.” Adam thought for a moment and then responded, noting that the political appointees at USAID were “not health people.” It would be hard, he surmised, for nonexperts to understand this issue. And so he suggested that we draft a simple, “Barney-style” set of slides to help the political leadership grasp the dangers, referring to the purple dinosaur of children’s television. He recommended that we use the term “Super TB” instead of “drug- resistant TB” to describe the mutations that can develop when treatment is interrupted, because it might be more likely to “catch their attention.”

Hungary was the playbook for anti LGBTQ policy in the west. Don't say gay in Florida was modeled on policies adopted there, which they modeled off of Russia. Same with ending legal recognition of trans people. They restricted access to transition care in 2020. www.hrw.org/news/2023/02...
