He animated the sequence by himself for more than four months -- without computers or even an easy way to check his work. I feel like the use of “Isn’t She Lovely?” in the Digital Circus finale is less about praising the Jax we see in the show (who I would hardly call lovely), and more a way to mourn the healthy Jax who could have been if she ended up like Lee and didn’t succumb to her worst vices.
Kids need/deserve traumatic films. Films that show death or lasting consequences that aren't resolved almost instantly. Fear, anger, grief and frustration should be part of kids movies. Kids arent stupid, they feel big emotions just like adults, they deserve to see those experiences reflected back.

as an animator i can't stress enough how important it is to take breaks and do activities that DON'T involve drawing read a book, watch a movie, play a game, learn how to knitt. you'd be surprised how quickly your creative juices get replenished by just enjoying yourselves
