HEY!!! Do you know that the NYC schools PUBLISH HISTORICAL COMICS - which involve (compensated!!) collabs between historians and comic artists?? And they’re all FREE to download. Take note! We can make cool historical comics without ripping off anyone! sites.google.com/schools.nyc....
Open Letter: Stop the Uncritical Adoption of AI Technologies in Academia It's been a year & people tell me they've changed their mind, feel safer now to sign, etc. So I'm sharing it again for them. We're almost at 2k & anybody from anywhere can add their names. openletter.earth/open-letter-...
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
Super useful. I figure a lot of us here in the Sky know this stuff already, but it might be handy to hand to parents, grandparents and pals who are less technically minded. www.librarian.net/NoToAI/

Twitch and Amazon are apparently planning to use streams to train Generative AI. Multiple sources tell me it will be announced in the coming months, despite some internal friction against it. Creators may be able to opt out of some training data.
I’ve decided to start doing a monthly newsletter. It’s not going to be huge, just sharing things I’ve found interesting each month, with the main focus being accessibility, of course! If you’re interested you can sign up at the following link: buttondown.com/craigabbott #accessibility #a11y
Monthly Newsletter, by Craig Abbott
One email a month, about interesting accessibility related things I’ve found on the web. Craig speaking at Access:Given conference.
