Adios and salut to a pioneer! Sir John Gurdon studied the requirements and barriers of #reprogramming. Highly relevant for us, with his PhD student Vincent Pasque he showed that macroH2A is part of the epigenetic barrier inhibiting reprogramming. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
