The world saw what happened on J6 and while we don't need a court to validate our observations, this hurts. History will never forget who were the architects of the rebellion nor will it forget who participated and who enabled their actions afterward. That can't be erased or forgotten.

Many people in my life including my partner and mom have not been the same since their Covid infection. They are fatigued, have constant flu-like symptoms, muscles are weaker, joint pain higher, and have not regained their previous level of functionality. Long Covid is real and needs to be treated.

Most discussion about AI's psychological impact is split between apparently benign use on one end, and problematic cases involving delusions and psychosis on the other. Between them is a murkier space in which use may become compulsive or otherwise unhealthy without tipping into an obvious crisis.

Not seeing anything too surprising in the primary election results in the Seattle area so far (I'll be covering some of these races in the fall, but this is an "off" year for city candidates except in North Seattle's District 5).
One of the things I don’t think some get about the Wilson critiques of The Odyssey is that one of the only and best ways academics can make our work and expertise relevant and available to the public is to pick a hot topic or newsworthy story and use it as an entry point to that expertise/research

The critical thing is that European cities care about people outside of cars. North American cities mostly don't. Shade matters for people walking, biking, rolling, and waiting for buses

Maybe there's a compelling case beyond "kids are getting in bike crashes!!" to argue for heavy regulation of all e-bikes, but this op/ed doesn't make it. Lots of vague stats, unrelated/irrelevant info (teens have "hormones" and don't wear helmets), and unsupported claims ("ask any ER doc," etc.)
