Buckeye born. IU & UVA taught. Executive Director of Perry World House at the University of Pennsylvania & Fox News contributor. Previously State Department, CIA, Obama for America, Georgetown SFS. Works on narratives/US policy in the Middle East/religion.

I worked for New York’s largest medical center at the start of the pandemic. There were morgue trucks on the streets. They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.

Trump essentially handed Straits of Hormuz to Iran, 3-5 billion in cash and more via higher oil prices, and helped IRGC consolidate control of the previously power sharing government. And left them perhaps weeks from a bomb with greater motive to go for it. How has his war benefitted US security.

With Fauci back in the news, a very good piece by @davidfrum.bsky.social about how “the American right sacrificed its supporters to its COVID-era delusions and lies…Many conservative Americans who made the mistake of trusting their political and media leaders paid with their life.”

By targeting Fauci, Senate Republicans are trying to transfer guilt from those who downplayed or misrepresented the pandemic, @davidfrum.bsky.social argues.

When I founded Serve America, it was built on a simple premise: our country needs next-generation leaders with urgency and backbone – people who aren't afraid to take on tough battles, go on offense, and put mission over self.

A LOT of good news for Dems in our new Fox News poll! To start, if the election were today, 53% of voters would back the Democratic candidate in their House district & 46% the Republican. 53% is the highest percentage either party has received on the generic House ballot in Fox polling SINCE 1996.

Fox News Poll: Voters want major change amid economic and political discontent

Trump approval holds at 39% as Democrats lead the generic ballot by 7 points, the highest for either party in Fox News polling since 1996.

Was great talking to @gregsargent.bsky.social about the quagmire the Trump admin has gotten us into in Iran - a war of choice started by a President who is divorced from reality and a SecDef who thinks tough talk and bombs equal strategic success. Feels like a new forever war with no end in sight.

"When you elect a madman...you get a paramilitary roaming American cities...and US military going around the world [thinking] you advance American power at the end of a gun." On the pod @marieharf.bsky.social is great on how Trump's pathologies got him stuck in Iran: newrepublic.com/article/2133...

There are many reasons I've been a Democratic contributor at Fox for almost a decade now, but this is a big one: A TON of Dems & Independents watch the network! Just one (huge) example: The Five gets 765,000 Dem viewers daily (more Dems than the average total-day audience for CNN & MSNOW combined).

Fox's The Five Celebrates 15th Birthday With New Milestone

The Five just celebrated its 15th anniversary and received a nice gift: new data showed the talk show is the most-watched daily news program among Democrats.

Can't get numb to this: The United States is stuck in a war it started, cannot end, and may further escalate to no avail, having dismantled its diplomatic apparatus, depleted its military stockpile, and destroyed its credibility. A historic strategic mistake harming millions in many different ways.

one of the supposedly damning docs the White House released tonight says Russia tried to undermine BIDEN. Also says China "prefers that President Trump be defeated" but actually "Beijing did not intend to try to affect the election" (!)

Sen. Ossoff: Tonight, Donald Trump, the world's most famous sore loser, will deliver a prime time presidential sour grapes address to pursue his 6-year-old grievances about the 2020 election.

This should be standard for everyone running to be in the United States Senate (or for President too, obviously). Interesting timing today with the announcement about Biden's memoir, too - as if Dem voters needed more of a reminder about how much we need a new generation of leaders in Washington.

When Democrats take back the Senate in November, it will be by a razor-thin margin. That’s why today, I announced that I will release my health records, and called on Senator Markey to release his.

The Iranian regime thinks it has leverage over the US - Tehran knows it can shut down global trade & that Trump doesn’t want to return to all-out war. My thoughts on the latest w/ Iran and continued cozying up the new regime in Syria (some bipartisan support there!): www.foxnews.com/video/640090...

Democrats are going to win this fall with DSA & with more moderate candidates - but both are running on an anti-establishment message. The GOP underestimates how powerful this movement is at its own peril. Steve Bannon agrees! My take today: www.foxnews.com/video/640003...

I don’t think it’s hype, I think he has it in him to become a 2028 frontrunner. I wish there were some polling on what is numbers are among people who know who he is I think that’s what convinced me Obama could pull it off, back when Hillary was “inevitable” in 2006/7, but the Obama people kept…

Ossoff: "When they gathered in Atl to remove Black elected officials not by defeating them at the polls, but by manipulating maps to dilute minority power, they saw you mobilize & they backed down. A wave is building ... let's make sure they hear it down at Mar-a-Lago, that GA will bow to no king!"
