This is absolutely WILD. Here's the dashboard video posted by @fritschner.bsky.social. Fast forward to about 1 minute. An ICE officer jumps out of a van and pulls a gun on this woman immediately before lying and claiming she "almost ran us over." *profanity warning if watching in public.

Video of an ICE agent pulling a gun on a wife and mother, who is a US citizen born and raised in the area, near Bailey's Crossroads in Northern Virginia yesterday. Chillingly, they claimed she “almost ran them over” until she told them she had video proving that was a lie.

I do believe Trump would underestimate the Japanese, think he was smarter than war planners and insist on a plan that spread his forces too thin, change back to the original plan too late abandoning all his supplies, and then abandon his troops to a horrible fate while he escaped in a submarine.

This guy never served. He faked an injury to avoid the draft. None of his children have served. He called those who did serve their country "suckers and losers." He skipped the centenary memorial for servicemen who died in WWI because it was drizzling. This is more than usually repellent.

Trump AI slop post showing him on the battlefield in a general's uniform flanked by bad AI versions of Patton and MacArthur

In addition to having no experience in immigration, their website shows Ilya Shapiro (!) and disgraced former law prof Joshua Wright (!) as Senior Counsel. I don't think this massive contract was awarded to give immigrant children effective, zealous advocacy. burkegroup.law/our-team/

The Third Circuit stayed the mandate in its case striking down New Jersey's AW law pending a decision from SCOTUS on New Jersey's potential cert petition or, if granted, the Court's decision on the case. This likely means New Jersey's law will remain in effect at least until next June.

My kids like basketball cards and while browsing them I saw that some cards are basically a sweepstakes that you have to redeem. So I went down a weird rabbit hole looking into Topps's "no purchase necessary" requirements and this one made me laugh.

A math question for Canadian entrants.

People don't like to say it, but Trump Republicans are just generally really dumb. We're losing a war with Iran because the people making decision about it are stupid. The economy is a mess because the people running it are thieves, but also idiots. www.reuters.com/world/africa...

For the best movie from when you were 18 thing -- Kingdom of Heaven but not the version that came out when I was 18. Maybe Syriana or embarrassingly Revenge of the Sith too. Looking back it was an interesting year, the culture kind of turned against the wars.
