I live in a small family home in the UK. My last month's electric bill was £127.21 ($170 approx). No Aircon, admittedly, but still... I don't have health insurance but I pay £0 when I go to the doctor and pay £0 for my medications. Obvs not precise comparison, but you're right. It is outrageous.
