Last time I packed the car, 11yo said, “wow, it’s like car Tetris” and now I’m haunted by the idea of doing it too well and opening the boot to find everything has disappeared.
It’s so solipsistic that the media does this. A columnist and former editor of the Today programme dying of natural causes does not merit the kind of full page spread that a former prime minister would get!

He was also a vicious racist, long before it was so profitable. He hated trans people, so, to these 'feminists' he's a hero.

Often what the complaining students wanted was a Cop who would administer Gradebook Justice to the slackers. Since I’m not a cop it was important to emphasize that other people’s grades were private & stay focused on the teachable aspects for *everyone.*

I've organised a prochoice demo annually in Edinburgh since 2013, a counterprotest to SPUC's "Prolife Prayer Chain". Trans Rights Edinburgh regularly show up to support the right to free safe legal local abortion. So do other trans & nonbinary people. You know who DOESN'T show up? Anti-trans.
This is going to make it very difficult to know which sports we should ban them from.

Is this a good time to mention that in college my History of Translation lecturer (Michael Cronin) told us that one of the first vernacular translations of The Illiad was into Irish, and the translator had to give the main characters dogs because in Gaelic society a free man had a dog
As a Unison member, I am very, very pleased to see my union’s stance on this.

Every politician saying too many kids go to university needs to be specific about how they’ll get more employers to offer in-work qualifications or structured routes to high-quality jobs. The barrier is never young peoples’ choices.

I hate YouTube videos as a genre, but I find kids saying “like and subscribe!” or doing a pretend livestream hilarious and optimistic. All genres, memes and forms are just grist for the creative mill of children’s brains.

We treat direct action as terrorism and we treat terrorism as legitimate speech and action. If you don’t believe the second part is true, may I just point you to the pogroms in the north of Ireland continuously referred to as “disorder” and never leading to a single terrorism charge (1/2)

Not only is it unnecessary carcerality from the state but it limits speech acts through the indirect chilling effect of fear.
“failing university” discourse is very funny (also not funny!) whenever you dig into it. People do the most incredible cartwheels to justify why the most “successful” universities are the ones with the poshest students.

Just taught the girls how to answer the “one doorman lies and one tells the truth” by us all acting it out and the look on their faces as they understood it was A+++. HIGHLY recommended.
GCSE: Hamlet, Lord of the Flies, A View From The Bridge. A level: Othello, Coriolanus, The Handmaid’s Tale, A Streetcar Named Desire, a selection of poems by Keats… and something else, because I know therr were six texts.
