The last 6 months have been truly a test of who I say I am. I've lost my mother, my job and my election. Today I sit alone on Mother's Day fleetingly trying to hold myself together. I was raised by sparrows. They are gone from me. When my wings unfurl, they are black and covered in leathery scales.

Friendly reminder that dishwashers made after 1995 or so are so water and energy efficient that even if you ran them twice fully loaded it would still use less water than handwashing the same load. So many "green" things feel like sacrifices. Dishwashers are not one of them.

If you want to run for something and make a change in who runs parties, this is the right advice in most states, even open primary states. The part they don't say is how difficult the independent establishment figure is when they aren't openly objectionable like Cuomo. See the Buffalo mayor race.

Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent. Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado. One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

here's something cool: the son of the letter carrier on Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood (McFeely) is a real letter carrier for the USPS and he's our letter carrier and he's awesome

I don't know what was going on for this person in the 90s, but a common command until I was off to college was "Don't y'all drink all that soda/pop! GET YOU SOME WATER!" When I was a teen in high school in the late 90s? Hall pass, long drink of water at fountain, socialize, back to class, repeat.

If you were not alive in the 90's, you don't realize that no one back then drank water. The idea of hydration didn't exist yet, if you were thirsty there was soda or some kind of very bright blue sugar water and that was it Every kid was extremely dehydrated and close to organ failure at all times
