Executive function is a bitch to control. I'm hoping that the semester ending and having grades turned in will free me up to focus on things I'd like to focus on. /cough cough @audilocus.bsky.social

Excited to keep going. Issue 2.1 will be out by the end of this month. I'll finish responding to those subs in the upcoming days. Looking forward to the next batch, too! No joke--producing a literary journal alone is a lot of work! 😅
Submissions are open for the next themed issue: Yawp. What do you scream into the void? What refuses to echo back? Send us the work that won’t stay quiet. 🗓️ April 1 – May 31 www.audilocus.com/theme
Happy Trans Day of Visibility. You are seen. You matter. I will always stand up for the Trans community and your rights.
Folks, we need to boost Matt Gromlich running again Dr Spineless Mikey. Not only must Mikey lose speakership, he needs to be removed from Congress. @mattgromlichla4.bsky.social @genzforgromlich.bsky.social @gromlich4congress secure.actblue.com/donate/matt-...

CW: sexual harassment / indecent exposure If you’ve ever wondered why women sometimes ignore men who talk to us randomly in public, here’s a real-life example. Yesterday around 11AM I stopped by Dollar Tree in Blanchard, Louisiana. I parked directly in front of the store doors. (1/5)🧵
Some happy news: my poem “Anxiety is a House” has been selected as a finalist for the AR Ammons Poetry Prize! The winner will be announced March 25th (judged by Crystal Simone Smith). I’m really honored to be on this list. 🥰
Andy Thomson winning the election in Boca Raton by 5 votes shows us that every vote matters. We must continue to vote in every election. Keep flipping seats blue. That’s why I am running in Louisiana district 4 to unseat Mike Johnson. Help me get rid of him. secure.actblue.com/donate/groml...

My most highly awaited rejection is incoming!
Update re: submissions! When we opened last spring, we got 2k subs, then I found out I would be cutting open my chest, and then I did, and then I recovered, plus I have two kids, a real job, and had to write my book and now I only have 600 more to read and your rejection is coming soon!
There's a guy for the job: @mattgromlichla4.bsky.social! He’s a professor in the district who actually shows up. Louisiana switched to closed primaries this year, so we need to get him through the Democratic primary on May 16 first to get him on that November ballot against Mike!
Is there a Democrat or independent running against Mikie? He can easily lose his seat in November. We'll all help.
Being an American means we accept all religions. Just because someone has a different religion than you doesn’t mean it’s “misguided.” Mike Johnson is a Christian Nationalist who absolutely needs to go. Help me bring decency and dignity back to Washington. secure.actblue.com/donate/groml...
I have a new poem out today in @rogueagent.bsky.social titled "Not Quite Gone." It’s an exploration of the paradox I live with: the desire for visibility versus the distress of being watched. This poem lives in that quiet, stubborn space where I figure out how to exist in the midst of existing.

When a brilliant poet writes a poem for you, you say thank you and you share it. 🥰
Thank you, @trampolinepoetry.bsky.social, for publishing "Indistinguishable," a poem for @maudiemichelle.com. Maudie is an incredible poet—and an even cooler friend/sister/person-who-made-me-a-person! Please enjoy this story from the early days of our friendship. www.trampolinepoetry.com
Maudie Bryant doesn't grieve the blades tucked into lullabies, today at Villain Era! 🖤🔪
Two Poems by Maudie Bryant
What I Miss Is Fiction I do not miss her.I miss the certainty that she was good. The mirror I polished every time she smiled. The softness I swaddled with her silence. She never said the cruel things. She let them bloom in the aftermath. The truth came with teeth——blades tucked inside lullabies, inferno dressed as candlelight. Not every ghost deserves an altar.

Louisiana darlings: @doitjewett.bsky.social, @conrad4congress.bsky.social, @mattgromlichla4.bsky.social — Kat Abughazaleh deactivated Twitter and she’s right. Time to make the break official. ✂️
This has always been a Bluesky-first campaign. But as of today, we will no longer be using Twitter. At all. And I'm calling on other candidates to follow suit.
About trying to find an appropriate container for grief in a world of mass-produced sentiment... my poem, "At Hobby Lobby, Choosing an Urn," is out now in Kansas City Review, Volume 21. [🎙️ Sound on to hear me read.] #LouisianaPoet #SouthernWriters #LouisianaArts #GriefPoetry
Officially picked up my plaque for the 2025 Ephraim Tyler Poet of the Year award this weekend. This honor was given earlier this year at Speak Poetry Fest by POETIC X, and picking it up this past Saturday (on Apollo’s birthday) felt like the perfect alignment. #LouisianaArts #SouthernWriters
I didn’t make the news meeting (except for my lil head on the flyer 😂), but I’ll be in this poetry event tomorrow evening with a bunch of Shreveport talent. Like Tee Winn says, it’s a competition, but we’re not enemies. Looking forward to vibing and hearing what everybody brings to the mic.
Verse & Vision Poetry Battle to be held at The Winn Center
Talented poets will be showing off their talent during the Verse & Vision Poetry Battle on Dec. 19.

Currently regretting the gas station mocha I drank this morning because I felt like getting a "treat." 💩 On the bright side, Spotify Wrapped is out! Of course my top song is @alliex.music-social.com's "Is Anybody Out There." A soundtrack befitting a morning spent questioning my life decisions.
The academic mind prison is almost lifted. Getting my hands in some paint as soon as this semester is over!! 🤪 These two are on the easel first. Ready to ditch the grading for the grinding.

It's amazing how a few weeks away from a poem makes you see the cracks in it. Time is the best editor. Patience is better than any craft book.
🔥 The 2026 FISH List is out! Audi Locus jumped nearly 100 points from last year. That’s not luck; that's doing the work. For the uninitiated: the FISH List ranks thousands of indie lit-mags, weighing submission practices, longevity, and editorial rigor to point you toward venues worth your words.
