This is sort of the thing in a nutshell: it's not just that there isn't much sex in most mainstream movies, it's that there isn't much Sex (chemistry, tangible desire, hunger and thirst) in mainstream movies

I've no desire to watch the Sex Purge movie, but the ungloving scene in Scorsese's THE AGE OF INNOCENCE or so much of Wong Kar-wai's work shows that you can make movies without nudity or sex sensual, romantic, and horny as all hell too. A lot of modern mainstream movies just feel glossily insensate.

I 100% have not changed a single goddamn thing about how I write here in the age of "AI." I write how I write. If the "AI" writes anything like how I write, it's because it stole from me. I'm gonna use any punctuation I like, and if it looks "AI"ish to you, you can go fuck yourself.

Authors and journalists are doing more first-person (hello 2010s blogging) and embracing "mistakes" in writing to prove they're not chatbots. There's even an “anti-Grammarly" app that leaves in typos and signs off "sent from my iPhone" to create more authenticity: www.wired.com/story/more-t...

Just finished Home Sick by Rhiannon Grist and enjoyed it so much. It's rare that authors get loneliness right, and the book felt so real despite being speculative fiction / horror. Definitely recommend.
