What a sad state our country is in when the Senate has to debate whether a President’s former personal lawyer—who has led the burying of the Epstein Files and promised to make Trump immune from tax crimes—should be our nation’s highest law enforcement officer.

This New York Times article, which ran a week before Christmas last year, didn’t get the attention it deserved. It detailed Trump and Epstein's predatory behavior toward women – “a game of ego and dominance” in which “female bodies were currency.” Here’s a gift link and a thread. 1/6🧵

Writers beware, there's a scammer posing as Josie Woodbridge, an editorial director at @blackstonepub.bsky.social; they emailed me yesterday. I looked up the editor on LinkedIn (she's real, as is the pub house) and found this pinned post from two months ago. Apparently it's still a valid warning!

Screenshot of a LinkedIn post from two months ago by Josie Woodbridge, Editorial Director at Blackstone Publishing:

"Unfortunately, someone has been fraudulently using my name to contact unagented authors and suggest potential representation. Facilitating connections between authors and agents is not part of my role at Blackstone Publishing.

Any messages that appear to come from me and seem suspicious—particularly those aggressive in tone, requesting personal information, suggesting you forward your work to another email address, or involving payment—should be treated as illegitimate.

If you have received such messages, I strongly encourage you not to engage further and to report them through the appropriate platform or to the relevant authorities."

We have to push back not only on this level of corruption, but also the level of tribalism that accepts genuinely awful people because of party affiliation alone. Would you miss one reason we must undo extreme gerrymandering, because it encourages appealing to tribalism not broad appeal.

James Talarico: “I have a legislative record, Ken Paxton has a criminal record. That is the difference in this campaign. Ken Paxton is the most corrupt politician in America and he should be nowhere near the US Senate.”

Have you noticed the tributes to Lindsey Graham don't cite any actual legislative accomplishments that benefited his constituents? It's a lot of "he was a strong voice" & "got along with everyone"- generic stuff you could say about anyone. His actual legacy is fluffing Trump & reckless war-mongering
