Last week, the EU model was forecasting over 100mm for the following 5-6 days. Halifax peninsula (including my place) had over 50mm Saturday night. The EU model had upped the projected rainfalls for later this week, with a couple of bulls-eye areas over SW NS and HFX over 100mm. Stay tuned...

Avengers: Doomsday looks as desperate as it feels, but it might still work. (Though if there's any evidence that Marvel and/or the Russo Brothers have the juice at all over the past half-decade or more, I haven't seen it.)

Won’t be able to get to the Odyssey until next weekend, sadly, but kind of amazing that there are only 41 screens worldwide showing it in 70mm IMAX and HALIFAX, of all places, is home to one of them. Take advantage of it, Nova Scotians.

People have been protesting through the appropriate channels for months, to no effect. They keep losing services due to cuts by the government, directed by this premier. This is an expected escalation. (I’m not condoning anything! But I’m pointing out that people have not felt heard so far.)

MLB still has the best big all-star game, but that's mostly because baseball is more conducive to competitive-but-friendly play than other sports. Its problem now is that our era's pitching is so good that the ASG amounts to an all-elite bullpen game that even the best hitters struggle against.

The only valid argument in this specious piece is (to paraphrase "the mayor is the only position the entire municipality votes on, so their perspective should have more influence." But that reality is already built into the politics of council. It doesn't justify why it needs to be in the structure.
