I think there's a case to be made that we should care whether people in power are, in fact, total jerks. In today's video, I muse about exactly that: why isn't empathy treated as a prerequisite to shape public opinion or policy? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

It's a big deal to accuse a writer of using AI to write. It's a big deal to spread disinfo that there is software that can detect whether a piece of writing was AI generated. It's rediculous to assume emdash = AI. Osbourne should apologize for this and make the apology as loud as the accusation.

Finally watched The Devil Wears Prada 2. Loved it! So glad it was such a solid sequel, and yes, it took 20ish years for us to get it but I'm honestly glad because it actually had a relevant message. It makes sense for a sequel to come out now.

I think Kat puts it pretty perfectly here. Anyone who professes to KNOW something was written by AI just by looking at it is probably talking out their ass using either the faultiest of logic or some snake oil software that is the equivalent of asking a magic 8 ball.

Watching the Alice in Chains MTV unplugged from 1996. Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell's vocal harmonies are so good. Even though Layne is in poor health due to his drug addiction and Cantrell was apparently sick from food poisoning they still give one of the most beautiful performances.
I know it might be too on the nose (though no more than Louis calling himself Thomas Pitt), but I wish Lestat sang a cover of Concrete Blonde's Bloodletting in the show just once. Maybe next season.

Kids will never experience the screaming arguments and days of fighting in the pre-internet days that came with SWEARING to your siblings that it was "so and so" in older movie or TV show and NOT "other so and so" goddammit! And having no way to concretely prove either way who is right.
"I'M GOING WITH YOU, RIGHT?!" My guy every office day. And yes bud, you are!
