Solar-powered punk media activist in Britain's Steel City – passionate about decentralised tech for the dissemination of information towards a radical municipalist society. I'm also a carer for my partner, a #pwME caused by Covid (mask up when you can!)

REMEMBER The guidance coming into effect today doesn't dictate what you're allowed to do as an individual. It for service providers and business owners. Do not cower in fear, do not reduce yourself, do not isolate, that is one of the intended effects.

Photo taken at a protest, he background is tall old buildings of a city centre, a lightskined hand is holding a sign with a trans flag painted on it that says "fuck your "respect and clarity""

The government’s transphobic code of practice is now up and running. But we’re not going to stand still and take it, we're supporting a legal challenge led by a trans person and a trans inclusive organisation. But we can only do this together. Will you join us?👇 goodlaw.social/ldco

My column on how capital becomes a death cult. Faced with a choice between profit and human life, the radical right chooses profit. Then it tries to persuade us that mass death is what we want. It's the new phase of climate denial: accept your fate, earthlings. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Murderous heat, an endangered food supply, decimated landscapes: embrace the Mediterranean life | George Monbiot

As climate disaster stares us in the face, the radical right says ‘Embrace the Mediterranean life’. Embrace death, more like it, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Yeah, I get that ex-navy officers have called it a crock of shit, I get that British party politics is so far gone that commentators feel they must attack fascist policies on whether they are "workable" or not -- but the rest of us will keep simply opposing the very ideology of fascism itself.

Reform's plan was exposed as unworkable less than 24 hours after it was announced leftfootforward.org/2026/08/refo...

People throwing around the word "migrants" as though these aren't human beings we're talking about - people wanting a life that less closely resembles hell; fleeing climate chaos, conflict, persecution...wanting a better life for themselves and their loved ones.

The issue few seem to want to acknowledge here is that this concerns the Bluesky CEO and the user base (for different reasons) only because Bluesky isn't as effectively decentralised as Mastodon, where a plethora of servers have codes of conduct so de-federate from servers where bigotry is allowed.

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

So the key findings of Amnesty's report was that these anti-rights groups have massive funding, that it comes largely from far-right christian groups in the US, and that they're abusing UK charity law to misrepresent themselves as pro-rights organisations.

Nigel Farage just took a question from a 'journalist' at his press conference, who turned out to be his former chief adviser Raheem Kassam, who asks him why the media are being so unfair to him

We should never forget how the BBC has changed this country by giving endless airtime to Nigel Farage and other rightwing extremists, while shutting out progressive voices.

And why is #r4today giving (yet again) such prominence to a hair-brained scheme that has little chance to ever be implemented? A GE is unlikely soon and the threat of Reform winning it is apparently receding. What is the justification for legitimising it?

“Gender-critical” transphobia is fascism. Transphobes don’t want to “protect women & children”, they just hate trans people. There are no “gender-critical beliefs” just hatred. They are just a rhetorical cover for hate. They are certainly not in any way “worthy of respect” in a democratic society.

A far-right thug who performed Nazi salutes at a "protect women and children protest" has been exposed as a serial stalker and abuser.

If anyone follows me for AI takes you will be disappointed, I live in San Francisco and I’m so so so very sick of hearing about AI. Of course I have opinions but they pretty much all boil down to “end capitalism”

The Peak District is burning — and where there’s fire, there’s smoke. Given Sheffield’s proximity to the park, it feels inevitable that, if more frequent and severe fires keep happening on the moors, they are going to have an increasing effect on us. The question is, can we do anything about it?

The Peak District is on fire. Can we stop it happening again?
