I wonder if this works differently for disabled people. I had to face my mortality at 20 when I got super sick. It took a few years (probably slowed by being super sick😅) for the lack of caring about how others perceived me to kick in but what you're describing intensely happened a few years later.

Over the last year I have just . . . hit my limit. I have stopped being everyone's personal shopper, personal assistant, encyclopedia, emotional thermostat, and maid. Nobody can seem to figure out why everything is disorganized and they fight all the time. I feel like a ghost, like nobody ever saw.

Sending love to my Kaua’i peeps after Lowell pummeled them. The tree tunnel is pretty wrecked (although not as bad as Iniki) and there’s so much cleanup going on, with sand everywhere, roads flooded out, the infrastructure taking a beating.

Damage Report: Currently hatewatching The Carmen Family Deaths, a netflix “true crime” documentary wherein the cops railroad an Autistic kid for murdering his mother, because he managed to survive 8 days in a lifeboat at sea.

Will You Please Invest (More) in Disability Justice Work to Operationalize Suicide Prevention?

For Suicide Prevention Month, the author continues to reckon with the costs of Access Intimacy Abuse at the hands of Makai Livingstone, the founder of Embodied Support Services, as she deconstructs ho...

Happy #StarTrek day in its 60th anniversary year! I started college studying theoretical physics because of Star Trek. I became a historian of exploration and first contact in the Americas because of it, too. The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine are in my blood and bones. A thing I wrote, ICYMI:

“Resistance is futile.” Why Star Trek: TNG’s Borg Collective Is the Perfect Monster for Our Time - Reactor

35 years on, what can we learn from the Borg and "The Best of Both Worlds"?

With Al, no university will need to trouble themselves with pesky human students ever again. Instead they'll have Al students who are all sexy ladies with big juggs and 17 fingers. The men professors can dote on them and when they see a lady professor can shout "it's over for you!". It's a paradise
