An adventurer of words: alchemist, slayer, and occasional necromancer. Writer of dark fantasy, lit by wry wit (the fantasy and the writer). Sometimes artist. Constant dreamer.

Also, congratulations everyone who made something this year. A comic, a song, a film, a novel, a painting, a poem, a short story, a sculpture, crochet, embroidery, whatever it is. In this era of slop and theft, if you *make* something you are a shining jewel and I am so grateful for you.

Everyone imitates Tolkien all the time except when it comes to the one way it would really matter: making the protagonist of your novel for children a short, fat, 50-year-old man who doesn't want to do anything.

Many people have noted that the Primary / Social / Forums / Updates tabs are missing when you do this 👀. You can recreate these manually using the "Multiple Inbox" setup in settings. Basically, tell your inbox to include emails tagged "inbox" and exclude the social / forums / updates.

Good morning, my fellow writers and editors. Don't forget to take time today for your mental health and self-care. Smell the flowers. Stand up and stretch. Drink some water. Sacrifice something to the old gods...

It’s my birthday! 🎉 May I be so bold as to ask to share my art? Below I’m going to drop some links (ko-fi tip jar, portrait commissions, contact for freelance) as all kinds of support are incredibly appreciated in these trying times! 💖

A selection of nine portraits - mostly commissioned by various clients as well as two personal pieces. They’re all done digitally in painterly style with visible brushstrokes and deep colours. There are vampires, vieras, elves, lizards, dragons and other humanoid but ethereal creatures.

Box--box--box--box--packin' all my shit again! There's no discharge in the move! On a related note, I just watched 28 Years Later. Amazing trailer. And credit to the film: I've never seen so many swinging spines and dicks in one movie.

#WritingTips: Thesaurus Thursday! While a very useful tool, please don't just say yes to every thesaurus suggestion. We've all seen that Friends episode. Use a thesaurus as a discovery tool: have it point you to new words, then research those words to ensure they're appropriate for your uses. <3

Synchronicity (aka coincidence forbidden in fiction but abundant in real life): When my (possibly autistic) 4 year old, who has lately grown very curious about homonyms, gets to choose our next bedtime read and what he pulls off the shelf is Rain Reign by Ann M. Martin.

[URGENT] Due to unexpected circumstances I'm in need of money to pay bills and move to a better place so I'm lowering my commission prices by ~50% for a month. I would appreciate it a lot if you gave this a RT, thank you. ❤️ I opened a vgen account, you can order easily from here: vgen.co/Demonyom
