I'm offline for the next week, but I know we can stay focused. Two weeks ago, Euro-Med reported that 80% of international humanitarian projects have been forced to cease operations in Gaza. Direct aid saves lives. Hit "weekly/monthly" on a coffee as reliable help for 21 families to eat. Then act.

People are exposed to so much judgment and shame on a daily basis that any whiff of that in your teachings is going to make them tune out or get defensive. Talk to people like we're in this together as a team, not as if they should know better already. It sounds corny but, love is the way.

In October 2023, Yoav Gallant said “we are fighting human animals” when talking about Palestinians. Now, Trump has called Iranians animals and said their “whole civilization will die tonight”. The failure to stop genocide in Gaza has enabled this disgusting, criminal rhetoric.

Seeing a lot of US accounts talking about "nuclear war" and the "threat" to them when the real horror of this right now is the US performing a nuclear-armed genocide, or conventionally delivered massive crimes against humanity, and you all really need to remember the lives of other people matter.

What I gather from this ancient Babylonian dialogue (and others) is that we have grappled with injustice for millennia. We've talked about it with our friends, and we've felt understandably depressed. How can we not? But we will keep fighting, and the smoke will clear one day...

This statement adds to a growing list of empty statements from the Canadian government which enables globally recognized atrocity crimes while functionally ignoring the Palestinian people. Canada unequivocally shrugs at its own impotence.
