On July 28, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. Over the past week, 38 people have lost their lives, and 8,200 have been evacuated. YutaONE doesn’t have funds, but we do have fonts. We are making a donation. As part of that effort, we have released a new font.

mmmm yes.... obtaining a new and cute little notebook will cure me of my mental illness and turn me into a shark eyed type a productivity megafucker... the last several cute new notebooks didn't, but this one will be different, surely.

(quoting bog’s qrp bc the op disabled qrps) you can tell the OG argument is mondo stupid because it falls apart immediately when you try to apply it to games that intend to be Actual Factual challenging instead of Fakey challenging ie: the DOJ stage 3 safespot(s) is simply a fact of life…

People have some sorta intuitive sense for why coherence is important for stories themselves but games are not treated this way at all. The rules & goals can be sorta siloed off from an analysis of the work or even changed to better fit the aesthetics/narrative (self imposed rules & goals)

it's interesting how basically all pre-copyright classic literature got oceans of 'fanwork' in the form of fake sequels, copies with added commentary, heavily altered and edited copies (which sometimes become more popular eg three kingdoms) and imitations

iteration, remixing and modding are probably the default creative mode for most people, and where most great work is made even. but the myth of the creative genius is hard to shake off and entrenched by capitalism

I just got some VERY bad news that makes it absolutely crucial to fix Mom's situation as soon as possible. She is in danger of losing her house. I'll be launching a GoFundMe and doing a stream to explain tonight as soon as I'm off work (no gameplay, just talking).

My mom is in a very tough spot right now, like so bad I'm genuinely worried the stress will literally kill her. I need some fundraising ideas Would people want me to start streaming again? If I were to do a fundraising stream or streams, what would y'all want to see me do? Maybe +R stuff?

Founder Toshiaki Fujino's handwritten calligraphy was prominent in Triangle Service's logo, their games and the "Shooting Love." slogan. For that reason, Fujino lent his special talents in other works such as Dynamite Deka EX: Asian Dynamite, Raiden Fighters Aces and Game Center Mikado's signboard.

All of those handwritten calligraphy logos were done with a special brush used by Toshiaki Fujino. It later became a running joke where Fujino provided his calligraphy in said other works as a self-parody of the Shooting Love. slogan. As it also happens, the company name was taken after musical acts Niagara Triangle and Sunny Day Service.G-Stream G2020 was released prior to the founding of Triangle Service; it was developed under troubled circumstances that led to Fujino’s company regaining the rights some time later, where it was renamed to DeltaZeal. It’s also the only instance where DeltaZeal’s logo used the same handwritten calligraphy designed by Fujino himself. The arcade and PlayStation 2 versions of XII Stag aka XIIZEAL were previously distributed by Taito at the time, whose splash logo preceded Triangle Service. After the NAOMI GD-ROM version of Trizeal was released, Triangle Service and Taito soon parted ways after the latter declined to publish the Dreamcast port. Prior to 2015 onwards, the English handwritten logo was only seen in the splash screen and ending credits for the European PS2 release. Not the case with the Xbox 360, PC via Steam and Switch ports, which only used the Japanese handwriting for Triangle Service’s logo. XIIZEAL also lost the animated title screen from the arcade and PS2 releases. For Triangle Service, Shooting Love. wasn’t just the company’s slogan, it was also their declaration of love for developing STGs. It became the name for Trizeal’s PS2 port and the various titular compilations across NAOMI, Xbox 360 and PC via Steam; it’s even an unlockable achievement upon playing Shooting Love. 200X and Trizeal Remix for the first time. Their slogan was the basis for Fujino lending his calligraphy talents in other works, where he received Special Thanks credits for said contributions; Sega’s NAOMI brawler Dynamite Deka EX: Asian Dynamite (Action Love.) and Gulti’s Xbox 360 compilation Raiden Fighters Aces (Raiden Love.) were among them.

stg scoring competitions r so cool because if it's a game that's new to everyone you can have one person practicing survival and getting consistent but lower scores and one person practicing scoring directly but not having the time to get consistent and it feels almost like an ideological battle lol

what do you mean the 2XKO devs dropped an entire blog post seething that people think their game's name sucks and they take pot shots at Under Night in it. that's hilarious
